Re: Analog synths without PWM: Why?
The answer is likely production costs. But PWM is achievable on the JXs' utilising osc sync, and on the DW 8000 using the delay.NCChao1268 wrote:Some analog synths were made without PWM such as Roland JX-3P, JX-8P, Korg Poly 800, DW-8000 and 6000 (Hybrids). But Why?

From memory, it's +/- 48 semitones. It's in the patch common menu. Hope that helps.

From memory, you can swap the eproms between the machines, and I think the LinnDrum as well.

Re: Korg DS-8
Having owned both boards (I bought a DS 8 new back in 1987, and have used DWs 6000 and 8000, and my EX 8000 is still in the rack) I feel at least somewhat qualified to respond. If the DW 8000 keyboard is "clacky", the DS 8 action is "spongy". Nowhere near as noisy. Regarding it's ability to mimic th...

Re: Initializing a patch on a Jx10
You are not losing your mind, and there is no initialisation routine on the JX 10.
I created an initial patch, which I called basic, and stored it on an M 16c, so I could quickly edit from scratch.

Re: Kawai K3m and MIDI control
Thanks Everyone. The controller mentioned are nice and a bit too pricey for my taste. There are several units of the Novation Zero SL MkII available here. What do you think? Will those work as well? I would think so if a Behringer BCR2000 already does the job. I used a BCR with the K3m, worked well.

synthmania have audio demos of most of the SR-JV80 cards, so you can have a listen. Orchestral 1 has "breadth", Orchestral 2 has "depth". They work well together.

see if you can track down primary sources for the Ondes Martenot and the Trautonium, dated to the late 1920s.
