Re: Uli Behringer's deeply concerning post
IMO, these are companies not charities. A market of willing buyers and sellers. You can make as niche a product you want but if nobody's buying it, you fail. You can mass make a product at lower quality and if it sells, you succeed. If one delves into moral grounds as to what should/should not be do...

Re: Synths and You (the collection of opinions)
Bet I'd change some of these opinions in future. 1) The synth that made you want to play music: not synths but electronic music from the 80s . 2) Your first synth: could be a VL-1 . 3) The synth that has surprised you most: Blofeld 4) The synth that has disappointed you most: Ultranova 5) The synth ...

Re: Roland 909 Day
Hope everyone had some takeaways from the 909 day. I am more interested in acquiring the acid box TB-03. Kind of sitting on the fence, waiting for someone to play something inspiring using ACB Jupiter 8 sounds before deciding if I need that. I own the TR-8 and the System-1 and they are very good for...

Re: Roland 909 Day
I think someone said $1499 for the System-8. these photos are aira line things? they look cool, especially stoked for the system poly synth which will hopefully come in under 1000 (1799 more likely) and be available dent box style for 500-600 within 3 years. Would like to know how many old Roland po...

Re: Have synthesizers Improved in 35 years?
Improvement defined? I do not think sound per se can be improved other than those relating to technical aspects, i.e. fidelity, power output and being more reliable to use, etc. Features and frills, sampling and digital, sequencer and automation and more of the same - yeah. It is not like you are un...
