Re: Finally put up the first two tracks of my new album
Not a bad mix for someone who's still learning (not that I'm a great mixer or anything like that...) I really like the second track 'Meridian Ocean'... a bit old school and it has a good feel to it... I'm a bit of a sucker for that minimalist trancy soundtrack stuff :-) keep writing and recording a...

Finally put up the first two tracks of my new album
After nearly two years of writing, I finally decided to sit down and start recording some stuff. I don't know a lot about mixing but I'm teaching myself a lot in the process. Anyway, the link is below. Let me know what you think or if you have any input. https://terrapinsounds.bandcamp.com/album/whe...

Re: What poly-synths can have separate envelopes per voice?
I suppose the Roland V-Synth might fit in this category if you set up a unique zone per key.

Re: Synths and You (the collection of opinions)
1) The synth that made you want to play music: Roland Jupiter 8 made me want to play synths specifically, I'd been playing bass for years before that 2) Your first synth: Roland V-Synth 3) The synth that has surprised you most: Korg MS2000, some of the modulation capabilities are crazy! 4) The synth...

Re: Synths aint ship
I think he means workstations with patches on them that emulate sounds you might find in synths?

Re: Andromeda A6 or Jupiter 8?
You all make some great points. Are there any other 8+ voice analog polys out there that might cut it, either modern or vintage? Not too many that I can think of...

Re: Andromeda A6 or Jupiter 8?
...I am fine with *close enough*. Have you tried the Roland JP-08 or the Roland System 8 with the included Jupiter 8 model? They are waaaaaay less money and far more reliable than either a decades old Jupiter 8 or buggy Andromeda A6. I actually had two Roland JP-08s polychained together and used a ...

Andromeda A6 or Jupiter 8?
My rig is going through an overhaul right now and I am thinking of one more analog poly. Of course, the Roland Jupiter 8 has always been my dream synth, but I find it hard to justify the costs they are now. Do you think if I get an A6 it will sate my Jupiter 8 desires? I know they're not the same th...

Re: Affordable Key Controller with Arpeggiator - 61 keys plu
The Novation Impulse 61 is good for that, I use it with my JP-08s and it works very well. Worth the cost.

Selling some synths for others-- suggestions?
I recently got a DSI Prophet 08, and now I'm in the position of finding two of my other synths redundant. I have a Korg MS2000R and two Roland JP-08s that I like very much but I don't find myself playing them anymore. So I've been thinking of selling them and replacing them with something outside of...

Can't go wrong with Moog knobs.
