Isn't this old news? I mean is this surprising at all?
I thought it was widely accepted that Behringer made knock-offs that were somehow legal.

Re: how many "plug out" synths will roland make before they
What exactly doest the term "plugout" actually mean? this is the first forum and time i have ever seen the phrase used!?!?! Is the Muse Receptor a plugout? or are you talking about the Korg M1 VSTi? or are you talking about the hardware that can be loaded into a DAW via a software driver for synchro...

Re: DW8000 Arpeggiator question AND open dialog on modding?
Sorry, I don't know anything about the arpeggiation. Several years ago I had a KORG DW-8000 and I successfully modified some of it. But the only mod i did to it was to transpose the normal pitch down an octave or two. I did this by splicing a variable resister fader (it was actually a certain type o...

Re: The most over-used terms used to describe sound
punchy (agree), warm (agree), organic (agree)
also, all three terms are so overused and misused as to be meaningless now.
they might as well call the sound "orange".

Re: Why are Casio CZ synth prices so high?
I used to have a CZ-5000, a CZ-101, and a VZ-10M. I really did like them all. The VZ-10M was a rack unit but it had the best assignable routing and a more adventurous sound capability if done right and had more voices per program. The CZ-101 was cute but too small to get much done with, so I sold it...

Re: Working with multiple DAWs
I use FL Studio 11 for it's drum step editor, then export the drum tracks as WAV stems which I import into REAPER v462. It's working pretty well now for a long time. I don't usually try to run them both at the same time, but FL Studio does have a VSTi function where you can load it as a VSTi into yo...

Re: What are your PC set ups?
The OP doesn't really need to upgrade his system if you ask me, unless it's to match the system requirements of newer software. My setup is a Core2Duo 2.4 Ghz CPU or something like that. 4 GB of ram, slots for 8 GB. one PCI slot. SATA hard drive and ports, no EIDE ports. My soundcard is my Alesis M1...

Re: SOFTWARE REVOLUTION
Well my Windows 7 computer crashed and wouldnt boot and wierdly it wouldnt even load the recovery CD-ROM. This was totally wierd because Linux CD-ROMs run perfectly every time. So it's not the CD-ROM drive. It's something about the BIOS and the Corrupted Windows and the routines of the Windows CD-RO...

Re: Poll: how do you feel about pirated/cracked DAW software
i have been thinking about this topic again. I think it's important for me to say that my most important programs are each paywares that I paid for. Image-Line FL Studio and Toxic Biohazard and Harmor, and REAPER in particular. Also Vember Surge and MultitrackStudio Pro Plus. Everything else that re...

I like the MrRay73 VSTi . I'm not sure which hardware it emulates, but I recognize the sound it's pretty good. It really brings home the amazing low cost of VSTi's, especially since it's discontinued freeware! It sounds totally pro on it's own.

Where are the sampling drum machines?
What happened to any sampling drum machines? I can't seem to find any that have actual MIDI slave and master sync and also can sample and also have a drum machine style sequencer. Also looking for something that can do CD Redbook audio (44.1 kHz 16 bit stereo). Are the MPC's the only choice?

Re: Poll: how do you feel about pirated/cracked DAW software
I TOTALLY agree with Griffin Avid. I wish they'd let us resell and rebuy old softwares. I read somewhere that old softwares are recalled from distributors and DESTROYED on commands by the manufacturers. This is supposedly because they don't want to have to compete with their own old softwares. C'mon...

Soft or Hard
I used to have only hardware and it was arguably the most productive time of my audio life. Then I used both for a while and put out a lot of higher quality material, but not as much. Then I finally transitioned to all software and ever since then I've gotten a huge boost in sound quality, but I'm s...

Re: Poll: how do you feel about pirated/cracked DAW software
All the main stuff I use now is payware heavily supplemented by little freeware utilities. But so much adware is creeping into the freeware scene it's getting annoying. I think the REAPER creators undestand how to act best. They make a phenomenally great product, allow people to figure out how to us...
