Hi
Thanks for all the thoughts.
On reflection I have decided to keep my Virus and work towards a deeper understanding of patch creation with it....
Thanks all
Richard

Re: Which laptop?
Hi
thanks again all.
I went for the 15" retina display in the end.....and got
i7 quad core
16GB RAM
256GB Flash HDD.
Got it off the Apple website refurbished with the usual 12 months guarentee for nearly £300 less than a new one.
Nice Xmas present to myself!

Re: Which laptop?
hey all!
Thamks for all the feedback.
Decided on getting a macbook pro.
Anyone tell me...is it worth paying the extra money for a 15" screen over the 13" ? I'll be using Ableton 9
Thanks
Richard.

thanks for the reply...
Yes....even after this short time, I'm thinking actually there is nothing better at the moment than the Virus for what I need. I probably just need to spend more time getting to grips with sound creation!

Which laptop?
Hi I'm thinking of buying a laptop which I'll be using to create music as well as use for live gigging. Software wise I'm looking at Ableton Live. Can anyone recommend what kind of spec I should be looking at? The obvious 2 choices are a MacBook Pro or Windows laptop. With the former, there is quite...

Recommendations after Virus Ti
hey all I'm looking for some ideas for potential replacement of my Virus Ti. Whilst I love the Virus I do sometimes feel its starting to sound a little dated and that it might be time to part with it. I'm looking for the following kind of feature-set - a synth that has FAT analogue sounds (I know th...

Mount Elektron MachineDrum
Hi All
I've just bought a MD and need a way to mount it onto a synth stand.
Can anyone recommend a good, strong, sturdy synth stand suitble for regular live performance (prefernably multi-tiered) that allows one to attached an additional mount to hold such things as a MD?
Cheers

Re: Advice on drum machine purchase
Hi and thanks for your reply :) Sound wise.....its a tricky one because our music crosses many genres from funk to reggae to psychedelic to dance which is why I think having something that is versatile, i.e. real-time tweaking and/or ability to load own samples is going to be important to us for the...

Advice on drum machine purchase
Hi all First post on this forum...thanks in advance for any advice you can give :) I have a band - we are a trio instrumental band playing original cross-genre music. We are bass, guitar and me (synths) We've tried for years to find a drummer with no success. Currently we are using the rhythms that ...

Re: Access Virus TI2 - Really?
Hi guys just wanted to let you know i bought a T1 kbd today! Having weighed up everything I realistically could I decided I really didn't want to pay the extra for a ti2 and that the kbd version suited my needs most. bought second hand for £800. very excited! thanks to all your feedback and thoughts...

Re: Access Virus TI2 - Really?
Hi, Eeek! Not sure - I'm a bit of a noob - I've currently got a Roland Gaia (amongst other different types of keyboards) which has been my first VA synth and I have loved it! Hence why I'm looking to upgrade to something really meaty. On that basis maybe I should just go for the TI and work to under...

Re: Access Virus TI2 - Really?
Hi, Well...guess I could buy a shelf. I have read several threads which suggest that the TI keyboard is great and well worth the money - I'm definitely in the camp that loves weighty/touchy-feely keys - I believe the TI is semi-weighted. On a slightly different note: if you were looking at a second ...

Re: Access Virus TI2 - Really?
Hi, I may not get the chance as I'm in a queue! First come first served.... :( Anyway, on a slightly different (but same) note (excusing the pun) - I could get a the desktop version + controller keyboard for the same price. However, my main use is for live performance and I'd rather: a) Only a maxim...

Re: Access Virus TI2 - Really?
Hi...thanks.
strangely I've just found a T1 61 keyboard for £800.
sounds like it might be a decent deal. Looks in good nick. Just a few surface marks...
very tempting. What you think?
