Re: Bottom Ten Worst Synths of All Time

I hate to say it, but my DSI Mopho. The knobs are so cheap and unpredictable that they are nearly unusable. Filter sweeps? Don't even think about it. The VCA clicks a lot, even on many presets. Other guys had this problem too, and DSI's official reply: 'that's just part of the Analog charm'. My MOOG...

Camel Alchemy vs NI Razor

Alchemy was the first synth I ever bought. Loved it, great way to learn. But with time I grew tired of some things. I found the VA to be uninspiring, so years later I've purchased a Moog Sub Phatty. Much better. I tried to use it for other worldly, in your face, digital bass sounds. But I found it f...

Re: U-He Satin Tape Emulation

I just figure my mastering engineer can do more when I leave my master track clean.

Re: sub phatty vs. bass station II

May not be an issue for some, but build quality is a big issue for me. In this respect, the Sub is far superior to the Novation. Sub Phatty is built like a tank out of metal and rubber, while the Novation is all plastic. You are absolutely wrong , novation is built from Hard plastic and all it's kn...

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick

... almost as embarrassing as the interview bit with Rick Wakeman making sure all the time that the wall won´t fall over. So you missed probably the most hilarious part of any music doc ever- Bernie Worrell likening playing a MiniMoog to making love, complete with voiced sound effects. That p...

Re: U-He Satin Tape Emulation

I bought this about a week ago and am loving it so far.

It sounds good on the master, but I have major reservations about doing anything to the master...

Using it on tracks and groups that need it. Works amazing on bass and drums. Best saturation you could ever ask for.

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick

I like to consider myself fairly open minded when it comes to music, and I like some pretty eccentric stuff music wise. Maybe the Money Mark 'jam' scene had some merits that I am simply too simple minded to understand...but I think that scene makes the documentary largely inaccessible to most people...

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick

I actually enjoyed the documentary for the most part...but my god these scenes with money mark were just horrible. That wasn't music. Or even remotely musical.
