Re: DX7-II, SQ-80, or Nord Lead 3?
The only thing the SQ would give are the wavetables, and they're nifty and all but most of the time it just sounds like a cheesy 80's ROMpler. The advantage the SQ-80 would have in this scenario is simply that it has actual analog subtractive filters, so in addition to doing some basic FM-like digi...

Re: which synth
ESQ1 is pretty damn cheap for what sound possibilities you get. If it had knobs, everyone would want one.

Re: Jexus' review of the Alesis Andromeda is up
OK, let me say it a little more directly this time: Who gives a s**t what some anonymous guy in Poland says about the A6, or anything else, for that matter? What I'm trying to say here is that, because "Jexus" says something, people appear to be giving it undue weight. My question is why. I don't u...

Re: Jexus' review of the Alesis Andromeda is up
I never "got" the A6 either. I have never owned it but I have spent some time with it and the basic sound never inspired me. Can't say I had any particular negative feelings toward it but it just never floated my boat ... and I tried to like it on a number of occasions thinking I must have missed so...

Re: what do you think Korg Z1 or Roland V synth?
2 of my favorite toys. Would have to pick the VSynth if it had to be just one. They do/can go to similar places but push you into different places by their nature. I can't believe the Z1 can be had for so little money. Oscillators, LFOs, envelopes and other modulation sources galore + a great arpegg...

Re: Modern Analog Song Competition
I've just come across this thread and posted in another so moderators feel free to delete one of them BUT here goes: I have a short track/noodle/improvisation featuring only the MS20 mini - no sequencer or MIDI, just recorded in the first day with the instrument. http://soundcloud.com/synthypoo/mess...

Re: Modern Analog Synth Comp VOTE HERE!
Well I've discovered this forum, this thread and the Korg MS20 mini too late but I have a short track/noodle/improvisation featuring only the MS20 mini - no sequencer or MIDI, just recorded in the first day with the instrument. Not the usual EDM but not BUG either.Hope you like. http://soundcloud.co...
