Re: Nik Kershaw synths

PPG is mentioned on the cover of the riddle LP. No, I have the LP in front of me. It only mentions Fairlight and (Oberheim) DMX. No PPG. Looking at the 1985 Live Aid performance, Tim Moore plays a Roland Jupiter 6, a Yamaha DX7, an Emulator I and an Oberheim OB8 (or OB-Xa, I never know which one's ...

Re: Juno 60 replacement battery info

There is a much easier solution, here is a battery holder for the CR-1/3N which means you can fit & buy the standard ones you don't need to solder. you can get these batteries from Maplins or any super market. http://www.tnrbattery.com/bc1-3n-1-3n-battery-holder/ http://cellpacksolutions.co.uk/onlin...

Re: Nik Kershaw "Know How" brass sound?

The brass was a Yamaha DX7 with each note playing a 5th as well as the root note, I know this from first hand knowledge :D most of the album Nik used a Yamaha TX816 and DX7. Along with a Yamaha QX1 Sequencer ;)

Re: Nik Kershaw synths

Personally knowing Nik and his band members during that period, I would like to correct a few errors on this post. On the first album the synths used on the album were a Juno 60, Obreheim OB-Xa, Yamaha DX7, Roland TR808, the Obreheim was in fact the lead synth on "I won't let the sun go down on me" ...
