Re: Last remaining good value analogue poly synths?

Keep in mind that even if you land an older poly analog synth in good shape, you may very well have to reinvest a decent amount of $ at some point in yr time together to keep it alive. Don't mean that dispatchingly, just something to consider if you are on a tight budget. roger that. this one's bee...

Re: Last remaining good value analogue poly synths?

juno6 is a lovely-sounding thing, to be sure. you will definitely get bored with it's sound-design limits pretty quickly, but it is a superb 'go-to' when you just gotta have that lush n bouncy early-80s roland sound. keeping with poly, a Prophet600 would be a great (analog) compliment....has a lot ...

Re: Last remaining good value analogue poly synths?

Great suggestions here folks. I managed to get a Juno 6 for £375 yesterday, which I know goes against some of the criteria I was listing but I couldn't resist. There's a couple of small things wrong with it, but I may take this on as a WIP to sell on once fully fixed up, which might give me a little...

Re: Last remaining good value analogue poly synths?

I wasn't thrilled with the Alpha Juno when I tried it, but I didn't have a chance to really dig into it, and with the criteria of "decent features at non-insane prices" it's probably a pretty solid contender. thanks for the feedback. yeah, I think i'll just keep my eyes peeled for a cheap one in go...

Re: Last remaining good value analogue poly synths?

It means when you switch it on, or if it sounds out of tune you can hit auto tune and it will put the oscillators back in tune. I recommend an alpha Juno, however I've only used it with the pg-300 so it might not be as fun if you don't have one. You could use a behringer bcr-2000 with it though or ...

Re: Last remaining good value analogue poly synths?

Last I saw the JX-10 was still sitting at non-crazy prices (although the PG-800 tends to go for a bit, and you really want one.) It's a very capable machine with a gorgeous sound. thanks but I had a look on ebay and the only models were over £1k! a little out of my budget right now. if it's of any ...

pretty much only needed for studio/recording. knobs not a must, but would prefer something that could be used with a vst or ipad app for midi cc if not.

Re: Last remaining good value analogue poly synths?

What don't you like about the Mopho? If i'm being ultra picky, a few of the functions don't have knobs, but for the most part it is a good looking, good fun to play monosynth that is really well put together and I really like it. I was intending to use it for live gigs but it's not the most compact...

Last remaining good value analogue poly synths?

I'm looking to trade/sell my DSI Mopho Keyboard and hoping that the value/price will be enough for me to grab one of the few remaining analogue polys, but I'm looking for some tips on what to keep my eyes peeled for. I'm now 2 albums deep and known basically for my chords/melodies, yet I've never ow...

Re: Moog Minitaur vs Dave Smith DSI Mopho

That's only one octave above middle C. Your mileage may vary. Yeah, fair point. I guess I should try and get my hands on one and see how I feel about that. ???? Evolver has 8 knobs which control everything in the synth...no menus, etc. It's far more hands on than Mopho. Alright, just commenting on ...

Re: Moog Minitaur vs Dave Smith DSI Mopho

Minitaur is limited to bass duties, it has a high note limit preventing using it much for leads. If you like the Mopho , consider trading up into a desktop Evolver . Hey, good point but it will still reach C5 which is a reasonable upper limit for leads, right? Also the Evolver is probably even less...

Moog Minitaur vs Dave Smith DSI Mopho

Hi all, First new thread. I'm an electronic producer and have recently quit my office job to pursue music full time. As a result, right now I've been considering doing a little buying/selling and streamlining my setup. Aside from VSTs, my only straight up synth is the DSI Mopho. I like the grit of i...

Have: Vermona DRM-1 MkIII with hardwood side panels Beautiful physical condition, only flaw is once warmed up kick drums can occasionally be a little noisy until the attack knob is adjusted and then it goes away.
