Bleak times

A track I made using a melodic sequence a friend of mine made - it was a kind of "here's the sequence, build a track around it, and let me hear the results" challenge ;). Instruments used, apart from the melodic sequence which appears 4 times - - Neutral Labs Elmyra (DIY drone synth) - Syncussion SY...

Nope, it is still online (8 pm CEST) ;).

Edit: And it's in the Arturia site as well:

Arturia PolyBrute

It finally appears official - Sweetwater has listed it for ~$ 2.5k. Six voices, 5 octave keybed a.k.a. 61 keys, Steiner-Parker and ladder filters, modulation matrix appearing similar to that of the MatrixBrute, 64 step polyphonic sequencer, ribbon controller, a "Morphée" pad (likely the wooden thing...

Re: DX7 Power Cycling?

^^

What he said, plus:

Upon opening the synth (unplug it from the mains supply before doing so) and before re-connecting it to the mains supply and measuring voltages, check the PSU visually. Especially for damaged/leaking/bulging electrolytic caps and obvious broken solder joints.

Re: Korg Poly 800 Can't load factory reset

While you're at it, also give it the "FM800" and switchable 12 vs. 24 dB/oct mods. Not much work and worth it. If anything else fails and your Poly800 doesn't accept tape in, check out the preset sheets and dial the parameters in. It's not that much work and doable if you do that by and by. Pro vers...

Re: Where to plug an electric guitar into a KORG MS-10.

I also tried plugging it into the EXT SIGNAL IN but still no sound from the guitar. That should be correct, but perhaps run the guitar signal through a preamp first. Does the synth work normally otherwise? I'm asking this because playing your guitar through the synth obviously wouln't work if (for ...

Re: Korg sq 1 compatibility

So anything midi could be controlled by the sq-1? I have a cheap little electric piano keyboard thing with midi wonder if that could be controlled? Basically yes, but only single notes and not chords, since that's all the SQ-1 can provide. Re: channel MIDI equipment is able to send and/or receive M...

Re: Korg sq 1 compatibility

Just picked up an sq 1 from a friend and curious to the compatibility. I have an electribe and a Cs-01 at home can I use? Or do I need a volca piece. If anybody wants to help by telling me what I can use, preferably in the cheaper range if the electribe or CS-01 won’t work let me know The SQ-1 is a...

Re: Help id Ace Tone synth

Wow as well. If that is indeed genuine (as it appears to be) you seem to have something super rare in your hand. Not even Wikipedia has it in their Ace Tone product list (=> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ace_Tone). Perhaps even some kind of prototype? I'd try and get in touch with Roland (the follow...

Re: Yamaha DX-7 - Internal Battery has Bulge - is at 3V

My DX-7 has a bulge on its CR2032 battery [...] It displayed 2.9 V to 3.1 V at random, depending on how long the synth is on. Should I replace this battery? Yes, and better today than tomorrow at that. While replacing the battery, see to it that you add a battery holder for easier battery replaceme...

Re: Some newbie questions

4. Most sequencer videos I’ve looked at online seem to be very “rigid” – only playing one type of notes (1/4, 1/8 etc) at a time. Is there a way to use a sequencer that mixes different note lengths? Would this affect the number of steps available? I.e. would it require that every step is 1/16 notes...

The above mentioned Keystep Pro isn't even available yet. It is announced for March 20 ;): https://www.arturia.com/products/hybrid-synths/keystep-pro/overview However, there are the Keystep (without "Pro") and Beatstep Pro controllers (also by Arturia), both of which are very common among modular sy...

Re: Have mini moog - on to sequensers - ?

Not being a pianist - I am less interested in fully functioned chords with separate filters. That's not all there is. For instance, imagine playing and holding a three note chord in the lower register. It started with a fairly loud attack but got quieter in volume by now. Now you want to start a me...
