Re: What is up with Oberheim
I purchased a B-stock OB6 module from Guitar Center a couple months ago. They still list both the keyboard and module versions as being in-stock.

Re: Korg Arp Odyssey
Some people are really snobby (I suppose a few are just curious) about where products are manufactured. It seems most prevalent among guitarists though.

Big DM fan and also loved the VCMG project, so I'll definitely check this out at some point.

Curious timing, I just bought one recently, having GASed off and on for one for quite some time. I'm looking forward to many good times ahead with it!

Re: new roland modules at messe
Having a predilection for 6-strings myself, apparently my tongue had not quite protruded enough into my cheek.

It can't go too mainstream. It'll never reach the guitarists. They're utterly flummoxed if a box has more than three knobs on it.

I would also echo the recommendations for the Minifooger Delay and Carbon Copy. It may also be worth looking into the T.C. Electronics Flashback. It has many different modes for analog, tape, digital, and reverse flavors.

The green/blue one is really cute. I already have both the Mini and Micro Brutes though. :-/

Or for that matter, a Minimoog counts the same as Hans Zimmer's modular?

If I really stretched the limit I could probably argue for 26-30, but I'll stick with 21-25.

Re: Anyone here burned out on modern analog?
Adjusting for inflation ($2500) that's about the same price as an LP Traditional now. Not outrageous by any means, but still out of reach of more casual players.meatballfulton wrote:In 1959 a Les Paul cost $300, believe it or not.

Re: Anyone here burned out on modern analog?
People like to listen with their eyes rather than their ears. There's great old gear, terrible old gear, great new gear, and terrible new gear. We're at a pretty unique position to be able to choose from the best of most of it. I have modern analog, modern digital, and older-ish digital. Personally ...

Re: Korg Odyssey
The distributor I have my pre-order through informed me back in June that they'd pushed it back to 2015. I should've mentioned it here, but I forgot. Uh-oh. Hmmm? Well, depending on the price and availability, perhaps I can time an Odyssey purchase to coincide with my next tax refund. Maybe by the ...
