Re: Casio FZ-1 Crackly Sound

On another note, with some help from gmeredith I just cannibalized an iphone 4 to replace my LCD backlight with. Went pretty well. Big thanks to the Tasmanian. No trouble getting the old EL panel out and replace it with the IPhone 4 backlight? Changing a FZ-10m EL panel for a IPhone backlight is qu...

Re: Casio FZ1

Allright, what is your solution for this then? With HxC or Gotek floppy emulator you can load but not edit.
Only thing I can think of is analyze the signals from the FZ's mobo to the display's PCB and program an Arduino with a LCD/OLED and SD card so you can navigate thru the FZ's menu.

Re: Roland D-110 dim backlight

Is that a piece of metal on the right hand side of the display which is mounted by screws to the back of the two small screws (originally used to mount the original display)? Yes, it's clamped to it. If I want to move the panel a bit further to the left and use that tiny space between the panel and...

Re: Roland D-110 dim backlight

As you can see in one of my pictures I used a 'L' shaped aluminium profile 2 x 3 cm. On the left I have to drill the holes a bit further to the left or I'have to file a gap that holds top left of the panel not to deep and on the right I have to do the same with the cut out of the L-profile with te 2...

Re: Did Casio damage samples with its own FZ1?

Are you saying that the downloads you got from my site had these corruptions?? Thanks for the list of the particular files that are corrupted. That's annoying if they are! Have you played them and can actually hear a glitch in the sample? Please don't get upset, I already said they could be played ...

No I'm not sure, if so can anybody translate or decipher? Not all files contain these lines. The corrupted files however do exist.

Did Casio damage samples with its own FZ1?

This is about how the fading backlight EL panel behind the FZ's display among other weird behaviour of the FZ1 sampler might have corrupted early FZ samples. Recently I downloaded these files from: http://www.warningwillrobinson.com.au/Sound%20libraries/Casio/FZ/ Yes, our highly regarded moderator G...

Re: Roland D-110 dim backlight

Well done again! Getting the display fixed is wonderful. jxalex only told me when asked to do it carefully but I expected something of a magic trick like with the q-tip and some isopropyl alcohol. Okay, it's obvious now but you did it and brought the broken lines back to life. I'm impressed. Next ho...

Re: Roland D-110 dim backlight

HOwever I need some brains for much tougher delicate experimenting. The worst scenario so far I have seen is in Korg Triton Rack. Its backlight wont fade away, but its LCD is nuisance which has glued ribbon-cables. Their connections depend on temperature, they break down, loose contact from LCD. Ma...

Re: Roland D-110 dim backlight

Thanx for replying promptly. Okay, that's very plausible but it doesn't give me enough confidence to sacrify a good working LCD. However, I must have a garbled LCD laying around somewhere that was detached from the PCB. Let's see if I can achieve some improvement on that one by carefully realigning ...
