Re: Looking for a Synth..(Industrial/
I'm not just starting actually, been making stuff for about 6 months. Just upgrading my gear really since I've gathered the funds. All I use as of now is a Skychord Sleepdrone 3,Korg Kaossilator,Roland SP-202, Korg KP-2, DOD Grunge, Ibanez DE7, Line 6 Verbzilla, and Tascam Portastudio 4-track. If t...

Re: VSE Disco competition VOTING THREAD
OK, my was "Granny gets lucky". How it all started: bandmates challenged me with " hey, you won't be able to turn that riff from our old song about the Granny into something dancey ". This " old song about Granny ", to let you know, originally was some obscure guitar punk stuff with lyrics about " ...

Re: VSE Disco competition VOTING THREAD
I like the idea of using midi files. Sites like kunstderfuge and classical midi archive are available for this purpose. If I have to learn a new classical piece well enough to record I'd have no time to pay attention to the synth sounds. And I can play a little. There are plenty of people who do no...

Re: VSE Disco competition VOTING THREAD
Guess it doesn't matter at this point...Ponytail was my VSE Disco entry. It runs for 2:56 at 132 bpm. I didn't have time to finish it. The song was submitted one minute before the original deadline. GEAR USED: Ensoniq SQ-80 crosswave synth. HOW THE GEAR WAS USED: Everything was sequenced on the SQ-8...

Re: VSE Disco competition VOTING THREAD
Wow, thanks :-) I'm really surprised, although it's nice surprise. Great work from everybody and great to see so many people get involved. Agreed - all tunes were really good. As for next competition - I really like the idea of "Switched-On/Moogsploitation" one ;-) Or, as EmptySet said - "8. reinte...

Re: VSE Disco competition VOTING THREAD
Thanks for the votes guys. Dirty Disco got me off my a*s and recording again. Now I can't wait for the next competition. Only a couple more days. Feels good , doesn't it! This comp also got me hitting the keys again - albeit one-handed [-X I had only enough time to submit an incomplete work...yet i...

Re: VSE Disco competition VOTING THREAD
I voted for DXsco, kind of sad that I didn't pick up one of the 0 vote ones yet. *pat pat* We don't see the result until after we vote, but that is most fair anyway so that ppl don't just vote for the same as "everyone else" without listening first. Actually...one can see the results before voting....

Re: VSE Disco competition VOTING THREAD
It was hard for me to find. Post it in the first post. Just click on the song names to the left of the voting buttons; they're all active links. The only song not listed is "Ugggh, It's too Nice Outside". Get to that one by following the "VSE DISCO COMP" link once you are in SoundCloud. You can't v...

Re: VSE Disco competition VOTING THREAD
My take... SEOUL DRAIN - AQUA's deeply disturbed cousin. More trance here, yet no Disco at all. Really good use of audio clips. Weird, I don't even know what trance is? It doesn't sound like he does either  If anything it sounds like techno, to me anyways. I liked the vocal samples and stuff. ...

Re: VSE Disco competition VOTING THREAD
My take... AQUADANCE - An upbeat tune that's a little trancy and quite dancy. Minimal techno that reminds me of Homework-era Draft Punk. SEOUL DRAIN - AQUA's deeply disturbed cousin. More trance here, yet no Disco at all. Really good use of audio clips. DIRTY DISCO - WOW...this one's a fun listen. S...
