Re: Dear Synth Manufacturers
Please make a desktop synth with pitch and modulation wheels. pretty close: (DSI Tempest) Nah. DSI strips cannot be used as pitch bend wheel, there is no zero point. I have P12, trust me. (fancy beat box with wheels on each side) A fine example of thinking out of the box. ;) I'll take it as a proof...

Re: Dear Synth Manufacturers
Might be kind of neat, gimmicky, for a desktop module to have some assignable mod wheels, I think I'd prefere that sometimes over a knob or strip or fader, especially one that returns to center by itself for pitch. However, the idea for them usually often is to have a cheapass keyboard or controlle...

Re: Dear Synth Manufacturers
If your main board is a piano or organ how do you intend to play the desktop synth, unless your piano or organ has MIDI ? Most people who buy desktop synths will own at least one keyboard with MIDI, that's why Roland et al don't put wheels on desktop synths. What makes you think that my board does ...

Re: Dear Synth Manufacturers
Right, NE5D 73 with plenty of room on top for a small synth expander. I would be just fine with something like Mopho desktop if it just had darn WHEELS. Or Mono Lancet, or Blofeld or something of that size...tomorrowstops wrote:I'm guessing its an electro series Nord, which has midi, but no wheels.

Re: Dear Synth Manufacturers
Strips are certainly better than nothing. And any synth is better than no synth. However, I was thinking of something with real knobs and most importantly real wheels. Roland's bend/vibrato combination would be ok too. Strips are great as additional control, but they cannot replace WHEELS.

Dear Synth Manufacturers
Dear Moog, Korg, DSI, Roland, Arturia and others, Some of you are probably reading this, thanx! Here is the idea: Please make a desktop synth with pitch and modulation wheels. I want to put the synth module on top of my main board which is a piano (no wheels) or organ (no wheels). I really don't nee...

Re: Axxe vs New Odyssey
There is no sense in comparing pure function (Korg Ody) and pure cool factor (AXXE). In five years, you will be able get used Korg Ody for 500 euros or less. For a good AXXE you will probably pay more than now. Anyway, one is original and another is scaled down replica.

Re: ARP AXXE MK2 (ORANGE) MARKET VALUE?
Paid 650 euros for very nice looking and well preserved MK2 (black/orange). However it will need some minor repairs so I expect to spend another 50 to 100 euros. I think it is a very nice synth with great little feature set, fabulous sound (it is one oscillator Odyssey), CV/GATE interface, very clea...

Re: polysix tuning issues
Hi, six weeks later and no end in sight. However, I have learned a thing or two which may help or at least provide some comfort to others with similar problems: 1) There is LOT of unreliable information online. Do not expect wrong info to be refuted. Trust the info that is repeated by several source...

Re: polysix tuning issues
Hello Polysix tuning society! I recently bought mine (OLD version with KLM396A) and it came detuned. Difference between voices on a same note was almost a semitone, octaves were compressed over the 5 octaves by a couple of semitones. So I Googled and studied... like this: http://www.oldcrows.net/~ol...

Re: Modulus 002 --- new synth from UK
Oh, finally someone understands. Thanx guys! For me it is amazing how few people from the synthesizer scene realize the importance of detuning. People crave for that "magic analog vintage sound". Where is the magic? My theory is that 75% of the magic is detuning. The irony is, once you have this kin...

Re: Moog Sub 37
I have just checked my order status and now it says 1-DEC-14. Another month, again! They have broke delivery promises for FIVE times now (MAY, JUL, SEP, OCT, DEC). This is not just "overwhelming demand", this is chaos and incompetence, crappy production, delivery and customer relation management.

Re: Moog Sub 37
Since nothing happened on 30-SEP-14 I called Thomann and learned that delivery is postponed to "end of October". I cannot believe this is happening. I did not just made a preorder, Thomann requested full payment from me so I paid for it in March. They are assuring me that I will get it with the firs...

Re: Modulus 002 --- new synth from UK
Sure, I agree that controlled wackiness is better than wackiness without control. That is why I miss voice detune in modern hybrid synths (like my Prophet 12). If you change V/Oct you can get some very strange scales but that is just a special case. And it is still precisely EQUALLY tempered, just n...
