Re: Roland D10?

I used to have a D20 and it was the first /synth/ i got into. And, I pretty much learned subtractive synthesis using it. Yes, the presets are mostly c**p. Yes, the drum machine inside is pretty dated. The keyboard is okay tops. But there is some serious potential within. While the menu-ridden progra...

Re: How do you rate Prince on synths?

Still, the sound design and the use of synthesisers is still pretty insane on tracks like "Girls & Boys" and "The Beautiful Ones" (that solo is just so expressive, matches the emotional intensity of the song so well) or the more obscure ones, like Vanity 6's 'Make-up' - this one still sounds so futu...

Re: Casio FZ1

Re: The unbearable struggle of a poor highschool entity. Yes

Well, thanks for the response, guys. You actually talked me out of the CZ affair, however I've got a new, completely dramatic dilemma to share with you. And yes, I would really love to get a SY77, but well, a) have never seen any going for cheaper than $400, b) it really is huge and heavy, I guess I...

The unbearable struggle of a poor highschool entity. Yes.

Haven't really noticed any similar questions in at least two years time, sooo I guess such an innocent thread won't do anyone much harm. So, I'm currently at the point of selling my D20 in favour of something of a different approach, that is, something completely digital in character (yes, I'm aware...

Re: Best synth basslines of all time?

I give all my love to the Pet Shop Boys' 'Behaviour', featuring a lot of Harold Faltermeyer's analogs, providing beautifully sounding basslines on tracks like "To Face the Truth" or "My October Symphony".
