Re: Casio CZ-1000/101 memory battery mod?

How did this work out for you? And how did you end up hooking up the battery pack, just by taking over the D-battery leads? Thank you! In short it didn't work, I never could work out why but it didn't work. I have found a solution however. http://www.artefacts.nl/Products.html It isn't as cheap as ...

Using the Drumtraks as a sound module (OS 0.5)

I'm trying to set up my Drumtraks as a MIDI sound module; however, even with OMNI mode set to off and the Drumtraks on a separate MIDI channel to any other instrument, the drum tuning are adjusted as notes are played by another MIDI channel. If I am trying to trigger the Drumtraks alone via a MIDI o...

Re: Akai ASQ10/MPC60 Floppy Disk Image (HxC)

I followed your advice and seemed to get a good disk image but still couldn't get the drive to work.

I then tried inserting the data cable upside down and bingo!

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the tips!

I'll try that exact method and see how it goes.

Re: Akai ASQ10/MPC60 Floppy Disk Image (HxC)

It is indeed HxC flashed.

The actual install is obviously very simple. I just can't seem to find a working disk image or manage to get a working one using Omniflop on an old XP PC.

Akai ASQ10/MPC60 Floppy Disk Image (HxC)

Has anyone else successfully managed to get an HxC floppy emulator working in an MPC60 or an ASQ10? I have a Gotek drive but even using Omniflop I'm struggling to get a disk image that the ASQ10 recognized. I've already been digging through existing forum posts and guides for days with no luck. Any ...

Could be that the potentiometer / slider is broken. Do you have a multi-meter to test it?

Re: Moog Little Phatty help

I don't know if the Little Phatty is the same but on the Slim Phatty there is a "CALIBRATION" patch which is the basic patch you would be looking for.

Re: Sub Phatty vs Slim Phatty/Little Phatty (filter)

I had the same concern before buying my Slim Phatty a while ago but I think it just comes down to those kind of gritty distorted sounds being en vogue at the moment. As soon as I wiped a load of the awful presets and dialed in some ore funky and mellow patches I was immediately reassured that the Sl...

Re: DIY Juno-60 Expression VCF Pedal

Service manual says 20k. Try linear first, then log. Thanks! I was certain I had seen a similar value somewhere in the manual but having been thoroughly through it couldn't turn anything up. Totally forgot to look in the service manual. I'll dig through my box of resistors to see if just shorting o...

DIY Juno-60 Expression VCF Pedal

Does anyone know what value pot would be suitable for use in an expression pedal for a Juno-60?

I just today picked up an old organ expression pedal for a couple of quid and I am looking at swapping out the current 2KA pot for one that would work with the Juno VCF socket.

Any ideas?

Re: Yamaha Reface MIDI Recieve Channel setting.

Sounds encouraging. Do we know whether the other Refaces are susceptible to this missing feature, and if so, would you like to remind Yamaha not to limit the change to the CP? :) I assume they're on the case, but it pays to be paranoid. Yep meatballfulton is right as far as I can tell all of the un...

Re: Yamaha Reface MIDI Recieve Channel setting.

I got in today to find 2 replies from Yamaha Technical Services the first didn't sound good... I understand that this is inconvenient for you in the way that you want to use the keyboard (omni off) but I think it is unlikely that this feature can be changed by firmware update I shall make some enqui...

Re: Yamaha Reface MIDI Recieve Channel setting.

Some interesting stuff you have found meatballfulton, thanks for your effort. I emailed Yamaha just after I posted this thread, no reply as of yet but it will be interesting to see if they come back with the same answer as the chap suggested in that thread. The CP actually has quite a neat system fo...

Yamaha Reface MIDI Recieve Channel setting.

I have a newly acquired Yamaha Reface CP. Very happy with the sound and the controls of the unit however I am hitting a bit of a stumbling block when it comes to the MIDI Recieve Channel setting. I understand you have to use a cc command to set the unit to Omni off followed by a Sysex message to tel...
