Re: ESI-32 3.02 changes anyone know the full list of changes

Here's a comprehensive list of all the changes made in the different versions of the ESI OS: http://synthark.com/synthesizer-museum/emu-gallery/emulator-archive/samplers/esi32/os/ The swept EQ filters seem too subtle at first, but if you turn up the resonance they start sounding a bit like phasers. ...

Re: Pitching Samples

It may not be possible to do it without any kind of noticeable artifacts/distortion. You could import it into a DAW like Reaper and try all the different time/pitch shifting algorithms to see if any work well enough, but I wouldn't get your hopes up if I were you. It would be best to just recreate t...

Re: That ESi-32 evil OS, sample placement Q

Thanks Kilroy, can I ask a follow up question. So where does the "Place Sample" parameters get stored? Do they get stored with the sample, or with the Preset? Example: my "blipoo" sample, with Place Sample parameters set to: pri G4 and range of F3 to A3 I create a Preset, let's call it Preset1 and ...

Re: That ESi-32 evil OS, sample placement Q

I know in the past I've got confused, does the Esi have a sample pool from which Presets can take? I notice the E6400 which I got recently, has a "file" or pool, into which I can load all samples "blipoo" and all its mates (buddies for US viewrs). At that time there is no Presets. I can then go and...

Re: That ESi-32 evil OS, sample placement Q

I'm not sure what could have caused it to be mapped to G5, but it's an easy fix: under "preset definition" just select the 6th menu option (erase zone) and select only G5. Also, if your sampler is totally clean of other presets/samples in the RAM, then you don't need to select "create a new preset" ...

Re: Yamaha Reface

Also, I'm probably in a minority here, but I think a smaller synth with some built in speakers has the potential to be hella fun (as long as it sounds good and falls within an appropriate price range). Agreed. To me price is the determining factor of whether or not Yamaha blew it, and since (as far...

Re: Strange Zip Drive Issue (Not Click of Death)

Check your PSU - I had a Zip PSU that was dying and it was causing what I think you're describing. Perhaps reseating the internal cabling helped get a better connection to the power?? Gah, that's it! I was convinced it was something to do with the internal mechanism because re-inserting the disk wo...

Strange Zip Drive Issue (Not Click of Death)

Recently the zip drive I use to save samples has started acting up in a very specific way which I have not been able to find any information about online, and I'm curious if anyone else has experience this behavior. When a disk is inserted, the drive will not spin up and instead the amber/yellow lig...
