Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards
Curious, are these cards also capable of being used to replace PCM cards? Or only the data cards? Forgive me if this is a stupid question or has been answered already. Not stupid at all :) It's been asked before but it's hidden deep inside the bowels of this thread ;) The cards can be used for PCM ...

New MRAM cards in stock!
I've got good news and bad news! The good news is: We've got new stock of 140ish cards! The bad news is: Due to a computer mishap (we blame PHP!) we lost all your pre-registrations so we can't send you an email to tell you about the good news :( So if you're reading this, go and place you...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards
Is W/E only a command line from D-50 to card, and M/R the line which tells to the synth the card is protected ( as it was told somewhere on this post ) ? The WE/CE/OE lines are control lines from the synth to the RAM chip - it's a typical SRAM interface, even though the polarity of CE is reversed c...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards
I have a Roland VG-8 Expanded and I'm interested in helping you make the card compatible with this unit. Are you still interested? It would certainly be technically interesting, but I don't have the time any more to spend on fully figuring the VG problem out, changing the card layout and going thro...

Re: And we are live!
shipping will be between 5€ and 40€ depending on where you are and whether you want insured shipping. Good news! We found (as in "were pointed to") a much cheaper shipping option so we can offer worldwide shipping with tracking and insurance for 10€! The 5€ option without tracking and insurance wil...

DIY Kurzweil K2500 P/RAM expansion boards - any takers?
Howdy, so as jojo already mentioned I made a parameter RAM expansion module compatible with the Kurzweil K2500 because we didn't think people should have to pay upwards of 100$ for an extension that's 10 bucks worth of parts at today's technology. I just open-sourced that card today - check out the ...

And we are live!
Once I've got enough stock of completed cards, I can start taking orders -- around the end of September maybe? Quite literally so - 50 minutes to the end of September to be precise! We are taking orders again! I have 93 cards tested and ready to ship, with another 50 almost done. Hop on over ...

New batch in the making!
Look what came in the mail today: http://dojoe.net/images/mr-batch2-assembled.jpg 168 memory cards, assembled but still on panels. I'll have to find the time now to perform the final assembly steps (break the cards out of their panels, add guard wires to protect the slide switches, configure the car...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards
There's another batch of cards in the pipeline at the moment, but as jojo pointed out, we cannot give you any dates yet. Don't spend all your money on other things yet though

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards
DANKE SCHOEN, dojoe and ʝɵʝɵ, for all your hard work in making this happen! I bought my D-50 earlier this year and hoped to get a multi-bank RAM card, and just found out about your years-long effort, so this was perfect timing! Hey, glad you got it and it's making you a happy camper! :D (and the na...

And for reference, the card pinout on http://www.vintagebox.de/elek/elekd50card.html#p2 is correct, even if the physical dimensions they mention are bogus ;) Let me copy that here:
12..19[td=padding:2px;border...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards
I guess that's why GJ said 2.0 ;) But yeah, not going to happen  Some elaboration: Instead of just a simple SRAM(-ish) chip behind some voltage level translators which the card is now, I would have to add a microcontroller with USB support, arbitration/multiplexing between the micro and the syn...
