Re: Roland S-50 EPROM Firmware

SUCCESS!!! :yahoo: I guess if you spend enough hours trying every possible combination, something is bound to work. As mentioned earlier, I've burned firmware on several samplers and synths without any issues. Using the TL866 has been automatic... until now. All of the default settings worked on the...

Re: Roland S-50 EPROM Firmware

this is very odd , indeed. Did you try burning the eproms on a clean install of tl866 software or on another machine? You never know ! I had used nec D27128D, and i remember that i had a few hiccups with the programmer as I was getting verification errors at least 2 or 3 times, but once verified it...

Re: Roland S-50 EPROM Firmware

I am sorry to hear that you have problems with my uploads. The eprom dumps that I took are named Roland S50 Firmware.zip on DBWBP.COM, how do you know it is V1.2 ? Did you try swapping the eproms ? could it be that I wrote wrong IC number on the filenames? I highly doubt it because as I said I used...

Hi Mr_Mojo_Risin, you had contacted me via pm but i could not reply to you , because your account was set not to receive pms. Thanks for pointing this out. I've changed my account settings. Sheeeesh! I wonder how many PM's I've missed this past year from others! Yes... I've verified the fir...

Re: Service Manuals and Schematics!

I'm quite surprised nobody has mentioned http://www.synfo.nl yet. He uses a giant flatbed scanner for the highest quality scans and they are all free. Even if you have an existing version, it's worth checking to see if a newer, higher quality one is available. I do small PayPal donations from time t...

Roland S-50 EPROM Firmware

* * * UPDATE * * * I've found the solution for this problem and it is noted in the 11th message below - - - A question for any EPROM experts out there - - - Has anyone successfully copied the firmware on their S-50 by burning new EPROM's? I've been able to read and write firmware for eight of my sa...

Re: Still looking for the original Akai S1000 library

These eight AKAI CD-ROM libraries have a password but gaining download access is quite simple.
Just follow the instructions located above the "Submit" button at this link -

Re: Roland D10 connector disconnect

I think the the U-20 has a similar connector. These are called Wire Trap Connectors are are appropriately named  It's not easily to see how these work at first glance. Press down on the top using a small flat-blade screwdriver and then pull the cable out. Here is a link with a diagram showing ...

Re: Roland Expansion Card Patches & JV 880

The JV-880 and other models are unable to use any of the Patches on this board. You can only use the Waveforms. The SR-JV80-98 Experience II board is kind of a kludge. It does not work like the other boards in the SR-JV-80 series. Taken from the SR-JV80-98 Experience II user manual; " This 'tryout'...

Re: New to Eurorack, what are 'must haves'

Just another update. I've almost a whole row of Synthrotek now. I really dig how Steve is carving out a niche for himself by putting out basic modules instead of whacky wtf does that even do modules. Ditto on the line of Synthrotek DIY kits. The ECHO is one of my favorites. I ended up buying two of...

Re: Which Synth Had The Worst User Interface Ever?

I should have read these posts first. I just bought a D-110. I'm glad it hardly cost anything. My vote for the worst was the U-20... until I got the D-110 :geek:

Re: Roland U20 PCM Card Not Ready

To access the sounds of a PCM Sound Library Card plugged into a U-20; Press [ JUMP ] [ NUMBER 2 ] and the LCD Display shows Edit/Timbre[1]/Tone Tone = (x)-(yyy) (zzzzzzzzzz) x = PCM Card Number. For example, " SN-U110-11 Sound Effects " is PCM Card #11 yyy = Tone Number on the PCM Card. For example,...
