Re: Smell coming from synth

Thanks for the replies. @101Force Thanks for all the helpful info. You raise a good point about my not disclosing the timeframe of the emergence of the smell, and unfortunately I am unsure about the exact time when I first noticed it. I suppose that it had always had a slight fusty smell to it, but ...

Smell coming from synth

Let me preface by saying I'm admittedly a bit neurotic, but I am worried about the smell coming from my Korg Mono/Poly. I'll play it for about a half an hour, typically using the arpeggiator heavily (I've noticed that when I use the arpeggiator for a period of time the board has a tendency to heat u...

Oberheim Matrix 6 Manuel

Oberheim Matrix 6 manuel anyone? I keep finding the M1000 manuel, but that doesn't help. I just need to know how to save a patch to memory. Thanks.

Sold mine a while back, as I couldn't really find a way to place it into my music, but I have to admit it was a joy to play, really high-quality construction and feel, and just a handsome unit to have in a setup. Miss it. Don't make the same mistake I did.

First of all I'd like to congradulate the author of this thread for introducing such a useful topic! Korg Z1 -- Textured Pads, Complex Effects, Smooth Strings, nice deep, stabby digital basses (ala PPG, VS.) or smooth, full, rounded basses (ala Mini, Source) , some classy digital sounds, exce...

I know we covered the possibility that the P5 in the video may not be the one used in the song,

but: still shots of 2:39 & 2:59 clearly not a P5.

I don't think there will ever be a modern take on the OB series synth of the caliber of the OBX, for example. It seems to me that from a logistical point of view, manufacturing an eight voice analog synthesizer, minimum of eight, to compete with the Prophet 08, with discrete components would be too ...

"Wonderful Christmas Time" by Wings Synth?

Okay, we heard it every year, that bright wah-wah sound ushering in Christmas and drowning out McCartney's voice, and the rest of the mix for that matter. What synth is creating that bright tone? I remember hearing it was a Yahama CS-something or other... Remember, this song came out in 1979.

I'm so confused!!! If only I had a way to test these things first hand. Or the money just to buy the OB-Xa and get things over with. :P Dude, get a Matrix 1000 and get it over with! If you are looking for "the sound," if you have what you say is a specific purpose, save 300 bucks and get the proper...

Yamaha A-4000 noob

Long time tinkerer with synths for over ten years, I finally decided to get me a sampler. I just picked up this unit, read the manuel, and can't seem to work out one simple yet essential function--saving my samples to hard disk. I'm in Save Mode and I'm using the first assignable nob on the left to ...
