Re: What Drum and Bass Machine for Prog Rock?

Hi guys - Quick update. After recording the 8 songs I have written with logic using the virtual instruments, I started to experiment with my equipment to prepare for the final recording and live performing using the hardware synths and sequencer. Here are the findings: Novation KS4: -Great and warm ...

Re: Synth prices going up

To me the joy of buying used gear is about finding bargains. The vintage thing is always an over inflated market due to popularity. I do love machines better than computers for one simple reason: -machines are designed with specific functions in mind and some of them make your work very fun and easy...

Re: What Drum and Bass Machine for Prog Rock?

I have been messing about with MMT-8 and Datadisk SQ and I was able to save a song from the first to the latter, a sequence on the latter and then play it back directly to my synth. It works like a charm, and it is so easy :D The only thing I can't do on neither sequencer ist to loop just a section ...

It is a project that is keeping me up at night, or at least it is the first thought when I wake up!

:geek: Any experience with Alesis Data Disk?
I wonder how fast it can load songs/files. :geek:

Re: Any good sound design and synthesis video courses/books?

Have you checked out "The Synthesizer Cookbook"?
I have bought it a few months ago and found it very useful in understanding all the elements involved in sound creation. There is quite an extensive library of configurations that can be applied to a typical Moog subtractive synth and similar machines.

Re: What Drum and Bass Machine for Prog Rock?

Thank you very much for your responses! :D I am on a budget, as I need money to produce the CD. Maybe in the future, for the next project I will be able to add another keyboard and improve the sound a little farther. I really like the simplicity of MMT-8. Do you know how many songs I can realistical...

What Drum and Bass Machine for Prog Rock?

I am working on a Prog Rock CD that I will be performing live. I would like some suggestions. I will be playing synthesizers and digital piano. I will need to sequence some keyboard parts and have a very convincing rhythm section that accompanies me. Basically, I have four needs: -Sequencing -Realis...

Yes, if it works that is what I was looking for.
So far, I only see online shops from England and Germany carrying it, I will check better.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Casio Previa PX 130 USB to Midi Connection

So basically I can't, since I am looking not to have any computers on stage. This way I can only use it as a stand alone keyboard for piano, ep, and organ or strings. No sequencing either. I love the action on that keyboard, but I guess I will need something a little more versatile for organs, ep, a...

Casio Previa PX 130 USB to Midi Connection

On my Casio Previa PX 130 Digital Piano I have only one USB out (just like the one on the back of a normal printer). I can easily connect it to my iMac and play any virtual instrument, but since there are no MIDI 5 pin connectors on the keyboard, I don't know how I could connect it to a standard mid...

Re: Excessively Smelly Gear

It works for smelly fridges:

Put baking soda in a cup or even buy a box at the grocery that is specific for the fridge. Remove the tab from the soda box and place it inside the keyboard and close it leaving it there for a few days. The soda will absorb the smell.
