@scottie_uk, I actually just saw your 2008 post on Gearslutz and answered you there, but now I see you got an answer last year here. Glad you got it resolved.

Re: ETI 4600 (Maplin 4600) Redesign to use modern chips.
Hi Mark, Welcome! I know just enough about electronics and synthesizers to recognize what a challenging project this must be, but also, how much fun! Definitely a labour of love. I've never heard of the ETI Maplin 4600 synthesizer. https://encyclotronic.com/synthesizers/maplin/eti-4600-r1429/ I'm re...

Re: Choir Sound?
I know they are different beasts but do you think the DSI Rev2 is really different to the Peak? So far the PEAK is sounding a touch more Juno 60 to me, maybe lol. Alas I have no experience of the DSI Rev2. The PEAK definitely nails the Juno sound if you want it to, but it is so much more than that....

Re: Choir Sound?
The example you provided isn't even a choir. That's pulse wave filtered, with heavy vibrato, a bit of chorus and too much reverb Sorry for butting in but I just wanted to say thanks for inspiring me to develop a beautiful fairlight/polysix choir patch on my Novation PEAK. A patch a day.... keeps th...

Re: Need Help Identifying Patch
I listened to the last minute of the track and it's pretty dense. I'm hearing a lot of what could be a clean electric guitar through a fast flanger or leslie type effect, and also there is one moment where I hear a kind of metallic "ping" that if I had to reproduce I'd probably go to my trusty Korg ...

Definitely sounds like a formant filter, to me.

Is the Korg Legacy VST not a viable option here? In my experience, it sounds very close to the original.

Re: "Touch and Go" Brass Patch
There's a good chance it was partially the Oberheim Matrix 12: "The Matrix 12 was also brilliant! I used it on the 1986 Emerson, Lake & Powell tour. In fact, I had it connected to the MIDI'd GX1 to augment the tracks 'Fanfare for the Common Man' and 'Pirates'." http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1995_a...

Re: New weighted controller with polyphonic aftertouch
Holy Thread Resurrection, etc etc... I haven't seen the new VAX MIDI Keyboard Controller kickstarter mentioned here. For those out there interested in such things, take a look. The Infinite Response team have a new, exciting, open-source and cheaper project. I've signed up for the 8-octave version b...
