Re: New synth: Hydrasynth
An interesting interview from one of the man behind this project: https://www.perfectcircuit.com/signal/asm-hydrasynth-interview I have to say that the UI of the Hydrasynth reminds me the one of the V Synth, and this is a good news because I think that the V Synth has one of the best UI ever, very i...

New synth: Hydrasynth
Finally something that is not another boring clone and brings something fresh and new, like the Arturia Microfreak I have to say...well, I really don’t like the name, it reminds me of the Captain American saga

Re: Buying First Synthesizer (Under 1500 Euro)
You can't really go wrong with a Yamaha MODX 7 or 8, lots of sounds, AWM and FM engines, one of the best workstation right now...

Re: Where do I go from here? (have MIDI controller, now what
There are a couple of free software synth which sound really good (very close to the originals) and you can use to emulate the 80s sounds: Roland JX8P free software Ensoniq SQ80 free software Then I would buy an FM synth because FM is the sound of the 80s ;) , I'd go for a 6 operators FM synth modul...

Re: Kiwi 3P for my JX3P
Ok I found a Kiwi 3P mod here in Europe (Signal Sounds - Glasgow), in this way I don’t have to pay import duties, well until Brexit :x  , so I’ve better to hurry up  It’s 300 euros (!!) and I have to pay my tech to do the job for me since I have no soldering experience, but from what I’ve ...

Re: Kiwi 3P for my JX3P
Read this article: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/kiwi-technics-kiwi-3p It's by Gordon Reid. He's seriously into synths. Owns a lot of them, including a Yamaha GX-1! So I think he knows :) I've always found his reviews agree with mine anyways, FWIW LOL. Thank you for the article, it’s very co...

Kiwi 3P for my JX3P
Hello everybody! I was looking for the PG200 controller for my new arrived JX3P, well I‘m finding that is easy to program the JX3P without the controller (I am used to the FS1R, THAT is an horrible user interface!!  ), but just to have some “hands on” fun :D , and here in Italy a PG200 go...

Re: Roland JX3P issue
Just to let you know that now I have the JX3P, I had it for 350 euros which is less than the current prices here in Italy, after 2 days of extensive use I can say that everything’s working fine except the leds from 9 to 16 which don’t light up as I wrote, in the next few days I will look at the ribb...

Re: Roland JX3P issue
There should be a ribbon from the mainboard to the front panel which carries the grouping signals for the LEDs. Probably just needs a little wiggle/reseat. P.S. Marked as CN6 (connector 6), I think. I'm also assuming you mean 9-16, not 8-16. P.P.S. Since they have eventually lit up, it's probably j...

Roland JX3P issue
Hello everybody! I was offered a JX3P in "as new" conditions, really I think that the owner never used it :D , he' s a very good friend of mine, a piano player, a preset guy, in 1984 he wanted a DX7 for the electric piano sounds but it was too expensive and ended up purchasing the JX3P, and obviousl...

Re: Kawai SX210 questions/issues
Since everything is working apart from voice 7 I will try to offer half of the price they are asking (360 euros I will offer 180) explaining them that it's not the kind of synth that is possibile to purchase without serious inspection when the original battery is present, too much risks, let's see w...

Re: Kawai SX210 questions/issues
Hi, It´s a gamble, but if the memory presets are intact and all functions seem right, maybe there´s only minor battery damage or none at all... That's what scares me, that probably is a gamble and actually I am not sure if I need another synth but I am absolutely sure that I don't need a broken/nig...
