Fixing / Replacing Behringer BCF-2000 top left clicker-dial

Hi everyone, So I made a stupid move and snapped off the knob that goes up there. The good news is that it goes right back on and still rotates properly, however the "clicker" part of it no longer clicks. I haven't committed to glue it back on till I know there isn't something I can do to fix the cl...

Re: Vintage Keys, need upgrade (plus) sysex restore (answered)

fantastic. yea batteries for anything that old is a safe bet to replace.. even if it still works (it can happen) these systems slip power from these batteries. i've seen batteries hold a memory system with 0.2v rating on a 2032.. and be thankful they made it user replaceable unlike some that require...

Re: Vintage Keys, need upgrade (plus) sysex restore (answered)

i sold it awhile back but yea you just open it up and remove the chip like any old PC/Mac.. nothing too special was needed IIRC.. turn it on.. load up the sysex file.. see if there are any settings in the vintage keys to prepare it to receive but i don't think it really required a lot of preparation...

Re: Finding a replacement LED for an ART SGE Mach II effects process

Thanks for this. I'm happy to report the unit turned out to not have a problem with the LED, but rather the LCD screen that just has some little black bloch on it.. doesn't even interfere with reading the screen but it's right in the middle. Glad to know though about the LED.. I do have a similar is...

Finding a replacement LED for an ART SGE Mach II effects process (solved)

Hi everyone, I am working on restoring a recently bought ART SGE Mach II. I had one of these years ago and wanted to have another and found it for a fair price.. but I'm hearing that some of the bars don't light up. I'd like to replace it with a new one. Admittedly I'm curious if they are in fact co...

Re: Pitch to Midi Conversion on Boss DR5?

very cool, yea a truly mono instrument might actually work ok.. but guitar with its multi tone ability was more than it could handle.. but that does may me wonder how it would track with a mono synth going through it.. i'll have to try it.

Re: Pitch to Midi Conversion on Boss DR5?

not very well. i just tested it out recently (decades since the last time i tested it) and yea it's as bad as I remembered it in 1993.. it works OK if you are patient and play very slow but you still get phantom octaves and such.. overall i'm not sure why boss even bothered.. its about up there with...

Any suggestions for good 1/8" and 1/4" jack cleaning materials?

I have up till now serviced hundreds of ports for patchbays and synths and up till now I've shot a blast in.. taking a 1/4" to RCA adapter and gone in and out.. twisted and this works well enough, but i got to thinking i would really like to take that time to really scrub and a metal plug isn't real...

Re: soaking / submerging gear/boards in denatured alcohol?

well i've been pretty lucky so far then :) but most things i've serviced are 1U effects boards and such where you have a fairly accessible line of pots and usually there is a hole i can reach with my trusty deoxit spray tube. but yea i do get that serious knobage boards like mixers and such (this is...

soaking / submerging gear/boards in denatured alcohol?

Hi there, I just got my hands on an old peavey 8 channel line mixer for my synths and as you can imagine the pots a bit scratchy.. normally i open up something and spray the pots in those nice spots and this does the trick, but this particulars 2U model didn't do many favors in making the pots easy ...

Re: does anyone make replacement button surfaces for synths like the Kawai K3? (fixed picture)

omg that's amazing! sooooo cool. That is exactly what I need. It's nice to see these can be made. I have to get this! Not cheap but not outrageous either. I should have googled more, but thanks. I just didn't know if there was some obvious well known place for parts.. I have to remember syntar too.....
