Re: Casio CZ-1000: RAM´s cartridge slot does not work

If it was an electrical problem tied to the keys then 7 or 8 other keys wouldn't work. If only the Cartridge button is not responding then it's very likely worn out contacts or some contaminate like pet hair or Pepsi Cola residue, etc. Even if it was a bad trace then it would have to be in a very p...

Casio CZ-1000: RAM´s cartridge slot does not work

Hi I have recently purchased a Casio CZ-1000. It´s in excellent condition, but I can´t use the RAM cartridge. When I push the "cartridge" button, the led´s indicator does not turn on, and either there is no message on the display saying "NOT READY - INSERT CARTRIDGE" as it should be. It´s completely...

Re: 1986 KORG DS-8... Quite Surprised!

I own one since 4 months ago. It is a rare synth, difficult to find. I got it for 200€ in mint condition and with case included (I was lucky).

100% FM sounding and so easy to program as a sustractive synth.

I love it!!

DW-6000 has no arp... DW-8000 does.

Well, you would not choose neither, but if you would to, which one would you prefer?

MicroKorg vs Korg DW-6000

I know they are different synths but, if you have to choose one of them, which one would you take? DW-6000 is an hybrid analog/digital synth, that has a lovely warm, "analog" and vintage sound. It has full 61 keys but it's a very limited, heavy and old gear. MicroKorgs is 100% digital, but can sound...

Re: What's a good price for a Korg Polysix today?

I would not pay more than 600€, of course fully working and in very good condition. Sounds very good and its a lovely vintage synth, but is very limited and sooner or later it turns into a issues factory.

IMO, If you own a SY-77 you don´t need a DX-7 anyway.

Re: Getting a Casio CZ5000 - hit me up on all the goodness!

So it sounds like the CZ-1 is more like my VZ10M, which arranges things that way. Was the CZ-1 later than the CZ5000? Yes, the CZ1 is the pinnacle of the CZ series (and the end of the line), and was the first and only CZ with velocity and aftertouch response. CZ-1 is the most advanced and complete ...

Re: MicroKorg vs Alesis Ion

The choice is simple, do you like the MK or the Ion better? Price is meaningless, the biggest waste of money is buying something cheaper rather than waiting and saving enough to buy what you really want. Of course, you´re totally right MicroKorg is a great little synth for the money, but I recogniz...

Re: MicroKorg vs Alesis Ion

I spend way more than that when it was new back then and yes I won't be hesitate to spend the extra bucks if you are into such type of sound. I like the original microKorg as well for it's gritty tone, but I'm more into Ion type of sounds. The filter types alone worth the cost addition, especially ...

Re: MicroKorg vs Alesis Ion

I own a microKorg XL and the ION, with a some experience of playing the original microKorg. To me it's the ION hands down, it feels like truly playing an instrument. Especially if you are more into a vintage tone , it's a great investment. Just make sure it didn't have the famous output problem or ...

Re: MicroKorg vs Alesis Ion

So the Ion has a mini version--the Alesis Micron, and the Microkorg has a full sized version--the MS2000 . The large of both are about the same price (MS2000 and Ion) and the small of both have about the same price (Microkorg and Micron). So you have two choices--size/knobs vs price and Korg sound ...

MicroKorg vs Alesis Ion

I´m looking for an economy VA synth in the second hand market. My two preferences are the microKOrg and the Alesis ION. I like so much the microKorg for its sound, features, looking and low price. Not so much for its minikeys and its only 4 polyphonic voices, but well, it can be forgiven. I also lov...

Change a CASIO CZ-5000 and KORG DW-6000 for an ALESIS ION

Hi

I have the chance of trading a CZ-5000 and a KORG DW-6000 for an ALESIS ION...

What do you think? Does the change really worth it?

Performance vs Sounding

Would you change a synth with good performances for another one more limited but with a sounding that gives you more satisfaction?
