Re: Ikutaro Kakhashi RIP

You know - i think 95% of musicians like Roland products. :D

Only creation of MIDI (along with Sequential Circuits) shaped history of modern music. And Roland did much, much more to it.

Rest in peace.

Question about synths - Holly Johnson "Blast" album

Title says it all. I wondering what equipment was used in that album. :D As many many many albums that was made around 1989 year, i hear a lot of D-50. Also i definitely hear some Rolandish drum machine sound - 909 and/or 808. Probably there also was some Linn/Akai sounds. :) Since also Andy Richard...

Re: Songs with Juno 106

George Michael used that synth a lot. And i'm pretty sure he used that synth on Faith album (along with Roland D-50 and couple of other synths).

Question about synths - The Buggles / Sheena Easton

Hello again. So, this time i have same question "guys, what's the synths?", but about two artists - The Buggles and Sheena Easton. Well, i think there was discovered what Horn/Downes used in "The Age of Plastic" (Prophet 5, some string machine, Farfisa if my memory serves me well, Minimoog, etc.) Bu...

Wow Micke... that's really more than informative...
(And yeah, i heard about usage a MC4, it was mentioned on album version of "Twilight's Last Gleaming", being operated by Mike Howlett.)
Much appreciated! ;)

Found this video on Youtube, where John and his backing band performing "The Hidden Man" on some sort of Spanish TV or something... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfRybmBXkHU So, what was i able to detect is Simmons Drums (that's very easy anyway :D ), Roland Jupiter-8 (i suppose), and ...

Question about synths - John Foxx 1983-1985 albums

It's well known that John Foxx used ARP Odyssey a lot on his hit "Underpass", and so on most of "Metamatic" album. But i actually very interested about this very albums: "The Golden Section" and "In Mysterious Ways" (especially because i like "Someone" song). Only thing i know that is, according to ...

Re: Question about synths - Savage (Roberto Zanetti)

There's a book, "The history of italo disco" by Francesco Cataldo Verrina, which contains all the info you are asking for, I've not read the book since I'm not interested in that kind of period/music, but had a look while I was in a recording studio which owned a copy, the italian version actually ...

Question about synths - Savage (Roberto Zanetti)

Questions about New Wave, Electronic music and Synthpop artists are quite popular, but i can't remember about Italo ones. So, let's move on - IF IT'S POSSIBLE - what synths used on this songs by Savage (or Roberto Zanetti)? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GPWjMOJuTk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RC...

Hmmm... heard about UVI stuff.

E-mu Emulator "Choir" sample

Got a... kinda weird question. I know there's a lot of questions, like, "i wanna E-mu Emulator samples so much", but i'm looking for just only one sample - dunno how it's called, i like to call it "Choir" or ugh... "Combined Choir", something like that. For instance, you can here it in Jarre's "Ethn...

http://youtu.be/2zRWiIsZKRk[bbvideo]http://youtu.be/2zRWiIsZKRk[/bbvideo] Wow... never expected that bass on "Bloc Bloc Bloc" was made on CMI. Quite nice video. On 'Junk Culture', they used a Fairlight CMI, a Roland Jupiter 8, a SCI Prophet 5 and an Emulator, mostly. There was also a Korg Micro-Pre...

OMD equipment during "Junk Culture" and "Crush" times

Hello again, i'm with another "what is synths used" question, this time about "Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark". I remember there was couple of questions on this site about their equipment during early times (i think till "Dazzle Ships"), but i also interested, what kind of synths they're used dur...

Sounds very believable to me, 'cause i just can't remember any drum machine with such a sound. :D
