Deepmind 12 High Pitched Noise

Hi all There have been a few posts here and there concerning a high pitched noise that's audible in the headphone and main out of a Deepmind 12... there have been suggestions that it's USB noise but I have a DM12 with the noise and I can hear it without using the synth USB.... some have suggested it...

Kawai K5000s Replacement Battery?

Hi all I was just wondering if anyone knew what type of internal battery a K5000s takes? I recently picked one up 2nd hand (obviously!) but I don't know if/when it was replaced so I thought I'd give it a quick once-over... I had a quick look at the service manual but can't find a reference to any in...

Re: Your latest musical purchase

OK... So I don't need another synth I really can't afford or justify another one at the moment I have way too many as it is I don't really know where I'll store it I don't really know how or when I'm going to use it But - I am now the owner of a Kawai K5000s ... if this thing lives up to all of the ...

Re: Request Advice on Midi Setup

Thanks Desmond - this info can get me started. Appreciate it. I can start looking around for a DAW and audio interface. I'll most likely be back with some questions. Hi Slinger Have a read of this article to give you an idea of how to setup your external gear with a DAW https://help.ableton.com/hc/...

Re: Iomega SCSI ZIP 100 with a CASIO FZ-20M

The Iomega Zip and Jaz drives are usually a simple setup and have switchable built in termination ... as Madtheory suggested, switch this to ON if it's the only hardware you've attached to the Casio but if there are problems, also try using it set to OFF... make sure the drive it up and spinning bef...

Re: In Need of System or Utility Disk for Roland S-550

Hi

Someone is currently selling a S-550 on the 'For Sale' section of this forum... maybe check with them to see if they have the software you're after before they sell (maybe they can make a copy for you).

Good luck.

Re: Deepmind 12 Arpeggiator - Start/Stop Control via MIDI?

See p.119 of the manual. There is an NRPN control that will toggle the on/off button found on the front panel. If you also have Key Sync OFF in the arpeggiator settings, the arp will start on the next clock (internal BPM or MIDI, at the specified note value) after a note is triggered (by keys or by...

Deepmind 12 Arpeggiator - Start/Stop Control via MIDI?

Hi all Does anyone know if it's possible to control the DM12 arpeggiator via midi so that you can determine when it starts and stops during a performance or when recording (I know that it will sync to midi clock signals but what I want it to do is switch on and off at specific times)? I'm using Live...

Re: Deepmind 12 - Ghost In The Machine??? SOLVED

It's certainly not common in polyphonic synths, but opening up the VCA independent of the envelope is often seen in monosynths. Hmmm OK... I never knew that ... I meant that I'd never come across it in any of my synths which are all polysynths (except for an old SH-101 I owned about 100 years ago)....

Re: Deepmind 12 - Ghost In The Machine??? SOLVED

Seems the DM12 is a super-rare beast... I'm pretty lucky to be the only one out there to own one... The weird self-playing patches are a normal (???) function of the synth... some patches are hard wired to begin playing as soon as the patch is loaded. There doesn't seem to be any way to control WHAT...

Re: Deepmind 12 - Ghost In The Machine??? HELP!!

DeepMind has a control sequencer . Call up one of those patches, press the Edit button in the Arp/Seq section until the Sequencer page comes up and see if it's enabled and loop is on. If so, disable it and see if the self playing stops. Hi Meatball I tried your suggestion but no luck ... some of th...

Deepmind 12 - Ghost In The Machine??? SOLVED

Hi all I recently picked up a second hand DM12 and I've noticed that when I scroll through the patches, I'll occasionally come across a patch where the DM12 will seem to play by itself... what I hear is usually a bunch of endlessly cycling randon notes as if the arpeggiator is on and you've accident...

Re: New to the forums. Advice appreciated :)

Hiya No matter which synth you decide to buy, I'd advise you to try and keep costs down to start with... definitely look at the second hand market (ebay, gumtree etc) ... there is quite a lot on offer and it lets you learn about synths and get hands-on experience without breaking the bank (especiall...
