Re: How is this synth sound made?

Not really my kind of music, but I’ll answer anyways. Sounds like an FM sound. It’s super clean, so probably something like FM8. The brass chord parts after are also FM and very clean sounding. I’m not sure how to program it since I have little experience with FM, but it has glide on it. Check out D...

Help me find these FM (?) sounds?

In this song from 1996. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bcyPR0sdLUs&t=5 The sound is pre-1990s, and probably FM at that. I know the flute in the intro is from the Proteus/2. Is that sound from a Proteus or a Yamaha FM synth. The same FM synth is also used in this song from 1990 for the piano chords. h...

Re: Earliest Minimoog recordings

The Indonesian groups Rollie’s and Favourite’s Group used a Minimoog early in the 70’s, pretty sure the Rollie’s were the first band in Indonesia to buy a Moog synthesizer. The album here uses Minimoog. It was recorded in late 1972. https://www.discogs.com/The-Rollies-Sing-Of-Love/release/10426412 T...

Re: Need help creating this sound (I'm Free)

The bass definitely has an LFO, but I think it’s controlling the pitch of the second oscillator on the synth while it’s synced. Maybe it’s from a Prophet-5? I wouldn’t know how to do that though. The lead sounds almost FM so I’d use an FM synth or PolyMod in Repro-5, it could also be a Prophet as we...

Re: First Analogue Synth advice/opinions needed!

I have a Minilogue, would check that out and a TR-8S or Alesis SR-16 if you want some classic techno and house drums (there’s a few on there). Quite a few of the presets on the Minilogue are geared towards techno and electronic music.

My first was a Yamaha MX49 but for analog synths Minilogue and for samplers SK-1.

Re: Still possible to get a Juno 60 for a good deal?

Some good modern polys out there. Prologue 8 or 16 would be good since they now fixed the tuning. Moog One is really expensive OB-6 or Prophet 6 could be good, considering they have rack versions, which are cheaper and so could be controlled by your K2000 or other capable gear by MIDI cables. Novati...

Re: Synths used by 2 Unlimited

I remember reading a now lost article about Belgian techno producers and the SQ80 and ESQ-1 for some tones. I also hear TX-81z, Alpha Juno 2, and CZ in 2 Unlimited’s songs, I have a feeling there’s Kurzweil K2000S somewhere in the synth layers. The acid part sounds like a 303 or a sampler.

Re: Still possible to get a Juno 60 for a good deal?

Seeing you have a Juno-106 and Polysix, those should cover the 1 oscillator with chorus effect sounds. Seeing your music tastes, I’d recommend a JX-3P or Akai AX-60 or AX-73 since those were used plenty by some of the artists you like and they can be found around that price. Let’s see some good chea...

Re: What's a good price for a Sequential Circuits Drumtraks?

The Drumtraks is a good drum machine for some kinds of music, I believe the songs Madu & Racun and Singkong & Keju use one or an RX11 for the drums (along with DX7, piano, bass guitar, and guitar). The Drumtraks happened to be popular with E and SE Asian and Eastern European productions in the mid 8...
