Re: What synthesizer are these?

In the 1989 ones I hear a D-50, DX7 II, and S-50. The three big 80’s synths of the early 90’s and late 80’s along with the M1.

Re: Recommendation for audio interface with multiple synths.

I don’t own an audio interface, but I’ve used an Apollo in a music class with my MX49 and it worked great.

Re: Help me recognize a synth

Looks like a transistor organ. My guess is from the 70’s.

Re: Should I buy a Synth?

Those do sound like synths in those songs. I’d rather recommend a DAW and some free VSTs. Timecop1983 also uses a Juno-106. A lot of the sounds your hearing come from the Roland Juno-series synths and Yamaha FM synths. If your looking for those sounds on a tight budget, I’d say look into a PC or iPa...

Re: Can anyone recommend me some free VSTs?

The only problem is the K Brown ones don’t have presets, and I’m very reliant on presets.

Re: Is there such a thing as too many soft synths?

I have over 600, close to 700 VSTs, mostly free and some commercial. I don’t think its too much.

Re: How is this synth sound made?

Not really my kind of music, but I’ll answer anyways. Sounds like an FM sound. It’s super clean, so probably something like FM8. The brass chord parts after are also FM and very clean sounding. I’m not sure how to program it since I have little experience with FM, but it has glide on it. Check out D...

Help me find these FM (?) sounds?

In this song from 1996. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bcyPR0sdLUs&t=5 The sound is pre-1990s, and probably FM at that. I know the flute in the intro is from the Proteus/2. Is that sound from a Proteus or a Yamaha FM synth. The same FM synth is also used in this song from 1990 for the piano chords. h...

Re: Earliest Minimoog recordings

The Indonesian groups Rollie’s and Favourite’s Group used a Minimoog early in the 70’s, pretty sure the Rollie’s were the first band in Indonesia to buy a Moog synthesizer. The album here uses Minimoog. It was recorded in late 1972. https://www.discogs.com/The-Rollies-Sing-Of-Love/release/10426412 T...

Re: Need help creating this sound (I'm Free)

The bass definitely has an LFO, but I think it’s controlling the pitch of the second oscillator on the synth while it’s synced. Maybe it’s from a Prophet-5? I wouldn’t know how to do that though. The lead sounds almost FM so I’d use an FM synth or PolyMod in Repro-5, it could also be a Prophet as we...

Re: First Analogue Synth advice/opinions needed!

I have a Minilogue, would check that out and a TR-8S or Alesis SR-16 if you want some classic techno and house drums (there’s a few on there). Quite a few of the presets on the Minilogue are geared towards techno and electronic music.
