Re: Hardware or Software?

Making great music comes from inspiration. Many people find that in the box. Some don't. You really have to go with what inspires you. The M3 is a pretty awesome machine. I have really tight quarters. I still prefer to fire up the old keyboards & wrestle with their character. If you haven't worked i...

This was recorded using a Korg T3 and a DSM1. DSM1 was great.

I have had the same theory. I haven't had to replace any of my new batteries since installing holders. Would love to hear if it works.

Ensoniq EPS Memory Expander Question

Had an idea. Good/Bad? Not sure yet. I have two ensoniq EPS machines with 2x Expander. I really want to find a 4x expander. Prices are getting stupid & finding them isn't easy, in the first place. My idea/curiousity... Could a 2x Expander be modified? Anyone have a schematic or the unit itself? My e...

Re: Ensoniq EPS Noise and Other Glitches

I have 2 EPS keyboards. I had to change the main board in one, resolder links to the keyboard contact boards together on the other. I talked to in guy in Seattle who said he had 7 backup EPS machines for parts, because they were unreliable. The EPS is my favorite sampler. Such a great machine. theso...

Well, it's definitely a fantastic sound. SSM filters + that Korg delay unit = dark magic.
Yes! The sound I hear seems hugely workable. It's surely not a performance keyboard, for live situations(Slow Drive). But, I could see it providing much sound for inspiration.

Re: Korg DSS-1/DSM-1 Your thoughts?

I have plenty of Samplers. I just like what I hear on the demonstration videos(youtube). Looking for something new to inspire my next album of music. Feel like I need a new direction. I've been looking at a few different synths/samplers that aren totally deadly on the budget. I guess I fear that I w...

Korg DSS-1/DSM-1 Your thoughts?

I'm thinking of looking for one of these. I've read the reviews, watched the videos. I've been intrigued by these machines for a few years now, but haven't laid my hands on one. I'd like to hear from those who've owned one & what their thought are? Is there something else in the price range you'll p...

Re: Synth Newbie Question on Sequencers

Back when sequencers were new, there were stand alone sequencers that did just that. Sequence loops & songs. I found one at Goodwill or $7 & sold it on reverb for over $100 I still see them pop up on Craigslist every so often. You can also look for an older synth/workstation with sequencer. But, be ...

Re: Guitar Pedals and Synths

Delay & Reverb are essentially very close to the same thing. In guitar I always have delay before reverb. Just in case they are both lit up, the delay generally is better off there. I don't run chorus but I'd probably place it first in line. If you are running stereo chorus, well, last. & probably n...

I'd change out the cable before you try much else. once you verify the cable isn't the issue, check settings. My S2000 midi light definitely blinks any time there is a signal.

Re: yamaha sy35 save into the keyboard possible?

Every time I fire that machine up, I have to figure out how to save a patch, again. Incredibly unintuitive. Glad you figured it out. The SY35 is capable of some great sound.
