But to talk synthy stuff... I've been backing a few kickstarters recently... I'm really looking forwar...

Relationship Between E-mu XL-7 and Halo

I just noticed a Halo for sale; it's description makes it sound like an XL-7 with a keyboard. Just wondering if that is the case and if not what the differences are...

Thanks in advance!

Re: Synths used on Modern English album.

Hey re-opening this a bit... Besides the square wave on Melt With You, there is a piano sounding part that is heavily effected. I was wondering if anyone has an idea what the effects are. I've always struggled to replicate this sound. It sounds a bit like gated reverb with a delay? Thanks in advance...

Re: Akai AX80 service manual, schematic or service diagnosti

Greetings, I posted a Q here: https://www.gearslutz.com/board/geekslutz-forum/1077904-ax-80-repair-who-can-do.html and after continued googling I would up here. After reading through this forum post and responses I'm pretty certain I can do the chip replacement myself, but I have a follow-up Q that ...

Re: Looking for Sequencer Suitable for Live Performance

Thanks for the follow-up everyone... (and sorry it took awhile to respond, the wife went into hospital, so I was a bit preoccupied...) Yeah, I'm not certain I'll take the AX80 or my Multitrak out on the road... Perhaps my DW-6000... I'll be getting a new Parva anytime. And I do have a Midi controlle...

Re: Looking for Sequencer Suitable for Live Performance

First thanks to both of you for responding... The RS7000 looks like it would fit the bill; the Beat Thang also looks great, biggest drawback I see is that with only one MIDI out, I may wind up with too much MIDI latency. I have quite a bit of (older) gear, so I'd have to start chaining a lot; I was ...

Looking for Sequencer Suitable for Live Performance

Greetings, I am getting my rig back together and am looking for a hardware sequencer suitable for live play. The last sequencer I used was an Alesis MMT-8 which I no longer have. I'd love to hear what people think. I'd like to have the following capabilities (I presume these are all reasonable): 2 o...
