Re: in need of a good SEQUENCER
Please let me know if I am breaking the rules here... To the OP: I have a Future Retro Mobius sequencer that I have had for less than a week. Honestly, I like it but it has a bit too much horsepower for me and would rather go back to a CSQ-600. I only own two synths and one is a SH-101 which already...

Thank you. I will listen with a more discerning ear once I get back home. I imagine it is mostly the toms.

TR-707 Noob Question
This is somewhat embarrassing to ask...but here it goes. What is the purpose of the L/R outs on a TR-707? Why not simply use the mono out only, like on a TR-606. There are not panning knobs on a TR-707 or 909, so what is the use of having L/R outs? Individual outs I understand, so you can effect the...

Re: Vintage BOSS PSA-120 Power Adapters
Hi, Crisp. Can you post a photo of the label for your Jameco adapter? Or a link to where you bought it? I couldn't find specs for this one on their website. Please don't take this as an insult, but you have confirmed it is center negative? Also, the TR606 really is only looking for 6V. Unregulated ...

Re: Vintage BOSS PSA-120 Power Adapters
But from my anecdotal experience, it certainly has. Time and time again. Noise at best. Even with the newer model PSA-120 that have the low profile "one-spot" guitar pedal shape, it emits a hum. This is not audiophile speak...even a disinterested wife or girlfriend would easily hear it.

Re: Vintage BOSS PSA-120 Power Adapters
I tried several "Jameco" 9V 200ma adapters off of ebay and the last FIVE measured 14V ! Without a load on them I assume? That's normal behaviour, the voltage regulator won't be functioning correctly without a load, once you plug it in it will be fine. You may be correct, but the fact remains that t...

Re: Vintage BOSS PSA-120 Power Adapters
Well 200mA is not really enough for a start, the 606 draws up to 150mA, you want a plug pack that can supply at least double that (300mA) to get the correct voltage under load. As for the SH-101 which draws 1000mA (1 Amp), that's just asking for problems. I appreciate your trying to help, but I do ...

Vintage BOSS PSA-120 Power Adapters
I am losing my mind here. The only power adapters that work reliably for noise free operation on my TR-606, TB-303 and SH-101 are the old school Red and White BOSS PSA-120S power adapters. The new "low profile" jobbers introduce noise. I tried several "Jameco" 9V 200ma adapters off of ebay and the l...

Re: TR-707 SP-303 MIDI
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! I figured out the Volume issue at last! I am not as dumb as I seem. Only halfway so. For the TR-707 to trigger the SP-303 at full volume, you must program the TR-707 to have "Double Accent" on that particular Main Key. Only one accent and it will be quieter. No accent, and t...

Re: TR-707 SP-303 MIDI
Nevermind. I give up. I am convinced that it is impossible to assign unique pads 1-16 on the TR-707 to unique pads of the SP-303. Their relationships seem to be preset. I think you can only manage if using a MIDI synth controller as a master to the TR-707. It does not work the other way around. I do...

Re: TR-707 SP-303 MIDI
Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, it did not work. I have become obsessed with figuring this out. It seems like it should be easy! To be clear: 1-My goal is to use the TR-707 as a sequencer for my SP-303 2-Bank A of my SP-303 has 8 pads. All 8 pads I have loaded with samples 3-My goal is to as...

TR-707 SP-303 MIDI
I am losing my mind. All I want to do is use the TR-707 as a Master Sequencer. Nothing works. The manual is written by opium fiends. 1-Plug MIDI cable from OUT of TR-707 to IN of SP-303. 2-Manual says "Hold these two keys down, press that, let go of this while still holding that, but remember to pre...
