Re: What's going on with all the spam?

From what I can gather from the subject lines, they're advertising some Korean casino thing... though what that has to do with synthesizers I can't begin to imagine...

Re: Polivoks Reissue

After the first batch of 100, I heard they're gonna be $2400. Saw a video of Vladimir Kuzmin playing one. If I didn't already have my original I could well be interested in one. Yet another reissue of a "classic", i.e. a synth that noone outside of the USSR actually used until they showed up in tras...

Haha. From what I've read I think it might best be suited for percussive sounds? :P

Re: Have synthesizers Improved in 35 years?

I mean I love Tangerine Dream or to be more specific Phaedra and Epsilon really stand out to me and yes it is the gear but it's mostly the musicians, and the low fi analog recording techniques that makes that material stand out, you really can't beat it, it's like what Boards of Canada try to be bu...

Re: Newbish question about sequencers...

Seems it's true, sleeping on a problem helps. Thanks for the video link. I watched that, then looked at the manual, and suddenly I figured out how to sync it with the Rhythm Wolf, gate out to sync in... I guess it might've been that the manual just talks about Volcas etc in relation to the sync in/o...

Re: Korg Delta - opinions please?

Thanks, I'll take a peek at the Minilogue. I could theoretically go for a new Prophet or Oberheim but that'd likely kill the rest of my budget for the year... while the idea is attractive, I *do* need to spend some money on non-sexy stuff such as furniture to get my permanent 'studio' arrangement se...

Re: Synth examples, post them here.

Not really serious demos, just a bit of noodling about that I decided to share because why not? https://clyp.it/h0sucwzx Roland RS-09 running through Lyuberets LM-1229 digital reverberator (with delay section). Raw RS at the beginning, gradually adding more effect until at the end it's just the 1229...

Newbish question about sequencers...

So, I'd have a question that makes me feel a bit silly, but I'd feel sillier not asking it and then getting frustrated trying to figure it out alone. See, for all that I've been playing around with synths for a good 15 years now, I've never used any kind of sequencer before (unless programming drum ...

Re: have you ever bought the same peice of gear 3 times?

Well... I had a TR-626 years ago, but sold it... now I'm hunting for another (at a reasonable price). So not three times, but twice. Also... if I can't get my FAEMI-1M working properly again, I'll probably look at getting a second one.

Re: Korg Delta - opinions please?

If you've already got the Roland, you might opt for a decent little polyphonic synth rather than another mediocre string machine... a friend of mine has an EM-25 and loves it for some reason but I just can't warm up to it, no matter how many effects devices I'm running it through. Yeah, I already h...

Re: Korg Delta - opinions please?

Thanks! So far it's sounding like it wouldn't really be too much of an improvement over the RS-09, so I'll hold back, and instead start giving more consideration to a Tom-1501 or maybe an EM-25... we'll see.

Anyone have anything more *positive* to say about the Delta? :)

Korg Delta - opinions please?

Heyas, Just wondering if some of you could share your opinions on the Korg Delta? I'm pretty happy with my RS-09 for what it is (can sound especially good running through my LM-1229), but am curious as to whether the Delta would count as an upgrade over the RS or just a... "more of the same", for la...

Entirely subjectively... white Odyssey, Polivoks, Elka Synthex and sexiest of all the EMS Synthi 100.
