Re: ARP Odyssey vs ARP 2600

I would take Odyssey over 2600, due to that Odyssey is more an portable instrument than 2600 due to its form. [my opinion]…

I don’t care about Jarre …overrated..[my opinion]…

Re: Roland S-330 OLED display upgrade?

I don't have an S-330, but I've been poking around inside my D-110 this evening. The pin-out on that (despite what I've previously read about VDD and VSS pins being swapped) was fine on the Winstar OLED that I connected up temporarily. I already had one wired up with a 14 pin ribbon cable for compa...

Roland S-330 OLED display upgrade?

Hi Vintagesynth community, I was inspired by the following topic: http://forum.vintagesynth.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=81070&p=759270 I would like to upgrade the 16 x 2 LCD screen to OLED and found out from LLamamusic.com that, the original part is called „DM1620-5BL7” (this is also used for D-110, U-1...

Re: Ensoniq ASR-X Operating System (OS) & Factory Sounds Arc

I think it will be fair to add "Pro" to the title due to that it wont work for the "non-pro" version or?

Re: Casio CZ-1 Parts

It looks like any number of them *might* work, but I don't know how to find out except to just buy and try. If I do, I'll let you know. Hi, sorry about the late answer, I took some pictures for you: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/srnql742pvv8wc9/AADGdW671czj-CwoKXuZIpNFa?dl=0 Dimension: 2 cm x 1,90 cm ...

Yamaha TX16W – custom ram expansion batch offer

I recently got myself a Yamaha TX16W with one standard Yamaha EMM15 pre-installed and I like to max-out my devices, even thought that it is not always necessary especially not in this case, due to that Typhoon 2000 is using the 1.5 mb pre-installed ram very well. To my surprise I found out that the ...

Re: Yamaha tx16w

i cannot find to much info on this gem. Im wondering what type of ram it takes, and if anyone has modded them at all. Im interested in installing a usb drive. Any ideas? The official ram from Yamaha is called Yamaha EMM15, they are custom and contain 1,5 mb. < (Maybe PA-Docoder made clones, but don...

Re: Yamaha AN1x firmware update seeking

I made copy of the firmware from my Yamaha VL-70m, which used a OTP chip branded Yamaha. I read-off as 27C160 and as 4 bank, if I only had read one side, then I would only have 50 % of the firmware as backup. I used a cheap eprom burner called “MiniPro TL866” and this is not able to automatically s...

Re: Casio CZ-1 – need of TLC

Issue 1: See the video here from 14:09 – 15:45 , where the end-user takes off the keyboard-part and explain how it works. I could imagine that something is “Interfering” with the contact between the key and the contact sensor. https://youtu.be/0S2MXgRjNeE?t=14m09s Issue 2: NTE R40-11D2-5/6 seems ea...

Casio CZ-1 – need of TLC

I bought myself a Casio CZ-1 today and it needs some TLC :) I will use this forum for the logging of the process! Issues: 1. One of the keys is not responding as fast as the rest of the keys. 2. I can hear low-noise on the output and found a blog, about this issue mentioning that I can replace G2VN-...

Re: Yamaha AN1x firmware update seeking

My next concern is the image itself provided by Rasputin, we are talking 42 pin chips and they often require programming/burning over more “banks”. Rasputin provided only 1 image, for the Yamaha An1X. I´m sitting back with 1 question. Is the image duplicated on all the 2-4 banks? Note: There was di...

Let me take some close-up pictures later and share of the volume slider knob. They use the same knob and then we can filter us down :)

Re: Yamaha AN1x firmware update seeking

Ask and ye shall receive: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3OQk-sD72jXMm4tUGJtOWczMFE Yamaha is a bit strange, when it comes to eproms. I opened my Yamaha VL-70m and found a chip branded “Yamaha”. :D (Non-standard). Nevertheless, M27C802 is not a good recommendation for a eprom to use due to that...
