Clipping and distortion when using soundfonts

A while ago I've found some great soundfonts of two harpsichords. The first one contains the sound of a delicate french harpsichord and the other one offers the sound of an Italian harpsichord with a more solid sound . Both contain samples of every key with 4 plectrum settings. (On harpsichords you ...

Re: best (affordable/free) loop point software?

You should check out the free SF2-editor Polyphone . Like other SF2-editors you can set loop points and export the samples in WAV. It's relatively easier to find seamless loop points manually because when you want to set the second loop point it also shows a part of the wave-form containing the firs...

Re: Limitations E-MU ESI 2000 vs software SF2

Hello everybody, Sorry for the delay. I was very busy with some other stuff. My sampler is still being unused :P I have tons of (complex) ideas but don't know where to begin. I don't think this is the right subforum for that. And your questions lacks essential info about what you're looking for. However: You can use Ploque Sforzando as a free alternative for Kontakt. Also from that website you can find Gbs of free sound samples with very interesting sounds. Polyphone is ...

Re: Limitations E-MU ESI 2000 vs software SF2

Yes, the manual is very clear, however the manual is +400 pages. I never worked with samplers before. I tried to do things with SF2, however programming requires allready a lot of work. I want to use it for some specific sounds like ARR1 from the Fairlight. I discovered some very good sounding sampl...

Limitations E-MU ESI 2000 vs software SF2

Dear all, I couple of months ago I got myself a E-MU ESI 2000 sampler. The main reason for that is to add some character in the music. Presently modern electronic music is often produced by nothing more than a laptop with DAW-software. I like that rawness in the electronic music from the nineties or...
