Re: The obsession for the Analog
Rant on : But why on earth, if you think VSTs are so superior do you spend time on VSE? Very good question indeed. This is excately why I stopped comming here the last time, allways feel like I have to defend why I like my Jupiter-8 insted of just being smart and use software. Us who like vintage, ...

Re: The obsession for the Analog
Now being musicians which we are foremost and not programmers (i hope), What's wrong about programmers...? The trouble for me is that music and creativity is a left-half brain activity which means that when inspiration comes I need to ride it out and bring it to life without engaging the sy...

THE MOST "ANALOGUE" SYNTH OF ALL TIME. OF ALL TIME. http://groovizm.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Native-Instruments-Massive.jpg >more immediate interface, more easily able to reroute patch leads >super easy access to effects and processing .`. Massive > Moog modular in "analogue" ness. that is ve...

That book and a comfy chair sounds like a good idea, most definitely analogue!silikon wrote: I expect that immediately after reading this you''ll put the keyboard down and go fetch a proper textbook and a comfy chair and settle in for a contention-free evening.

Re: The obsession for the Analog
consider that not all analog synths have a knob/slider per function and that exclusion doesn't somehow make them a digital synth or any less analog. Analog from the merriam-webster online dictionary: "of, relating to, or being a mechanism in which data is represented by continuously variable physic...

Re: The obsession for the Analog
Since my original post of attempting to contribute something towards this thread there has been only one decent comment and 5 or so negative responses that boils down to nothing other than pitiful hairsplitting over me offering a simile to the the term analogue. I joined this forum way before many o...

Re: The obsession for the Analog
For me analogue means less about the sound generation and more about the interface. A Korg EA1 is more approachable (and therefore analogue) than a mopho IMO. My "analogue" instruments include the piano, TR808, guitar, the electribes, kaosspads, Nord Lead 2, Vermona Drm etc. http://i.imgur.com/prtM...

Our modern digital age has a certain presumption that we are totally fine and happy to be part time programmers and manual readers. I certain...

Re: Daft Punk pre-human after all synths?
Not exactly, while a lot of full track remixing is going on, there's also a lot of instances of using a capellas which you'd be hard pressed to simply "rip off the album". Too Long-Steam Machine only has the vocals from Too Long iirc, and Face to Face has the one Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger li...

Re: Daft Punk pre-human after all synths?
The main hook at the beginning sounds like a very MS-20 screaming type of sound. There is also another sound that comes in around 2:30 which sounds like a distorted 303:clubbedtodeath wrote:Wouldn't be surprised if it was used Da Funk as well

There is definitely an MS-20 on Rollin and Scratchin':clubbedtodeath wrote: I'm shocked there's no Korg MS-20.
I can swear I hear one on a couple of Homework tracks.

Re: Daft Punk pre-human after all synths?
After they released Discovery in 2001, they didn't start playing live again until they discovered Ableton a couple of years back, because it was just too difficult for them to integrate their tracks on Discovery into a live set using hardware. Can you imagine trying to recreate all those vocoded syn...

I know this is old but I have to comment on the ESX. This will be hard for me not to come across negative about the ESX but I would be interested to hear if any others have experienced the same... I bought an ES-1 when they first came out and loved it, but there were always some things I wished it h...
