Re: Yamaha Reface CS, Korg Microkorg, JD-Xi and JU-06a vintage sound shopping!
I like reface CS, Microkorg, and the JU-06a. The Microkorg has a lot of sound designer patches you can buy - and some are really good. I almost bought a 15th anniversary edition Microkorg last month, but someone beat me to it. I really like the silver face on it. Korg will likely do a 20th annivers...

Why two? To get the sounds you want you'll need a synth more flexible than any of those. For the price of two of those, you can get a Korg Prologue. Or even better value, Behringer Deep Mind 12. Roland JDxa is fab but maybe outside the budget here? Decisions, decisions, yes it's all about budget at...

Yamaha Reface CS, Korg Microkorg, JD-Xi and JU-06a vintage sound shopping!
Deciding between Synths is like choosing chocolate! :) I've got 4 I'm looking at. I'm not looking to see if it can save patches or sequence. I want to find which sound more vintage as in 70s/80s my favourite Synth era. Which are the most clever at changing sounds? My favourite music is Ultravox, Gar...

Roland JD-Xi Vs Roland Boutiques
I'm a big fan of Roland products, 2nd favourite is Korg, I'll come to that on another post.. I've probably been looking and wondering about getting the JD-Xi for 2 years. Where as I've instantly gone and bought quite a few Roland Boutiques. The Boutiques have got nice authentic sounds, I like the sp...

Korg Microkorg Vs Korg Microkorg S
On YouTube vids there's been alot of demonstrations of what the original Korg microKORG can do, can the S version do the same? Love the idea of the speakers, very powerful. One thing I didn't like are the 'Dance sequence' sounds. Does the original have the same? Also when it came to one of my favour...

Korg Microkorg and JU-06a square wave 'MadWorld' sound which is best?
Needing your advice, this is kind of link to a previous post, but that was asking the Synth they used back then. I'm needing to recreate I think what is a square wave on a Boutique I havent bought one of these yet but deciding between the Korg Microkorg and JU-06a. The exact sound I want to make is ...

Re: Tears For Fears "The Hurting": name those synths?
I saw a video of a live performance of "Mad World" and remember spotting a Polysix. Don't know if that was used on the record, though. I'm also looking for the Synth on that particular song, spanding some vids saw Jupiter 8 and a Dx7, Polysix makes perfect sense. Wish TFF would reveal their Synth s...

That's handy anyway, getting the square/ triangle wave to use on my other Synths.meatballfulton wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 4:35 pmIt's just a simple square or triangle wave with vibrato on it. What synth? Could be anything.
Some groups swap their Synths I guess alot, where as Billy Currie you know where you are with him and his favourites.

Mad World (Tears for Fears) vibrato sound? Which Synth?
As Synth lovers I think we all have our favourite bits from 80s tunes in particular. The sounds that make us immediately want to go out and buy one! 😂 I have posted a similar question before but I wasn't detailed. There's a sound on Tears for Fears Mad World, Its first version is very brassy, but it...

Roland Boutique JP-08 patch download concerns
If there's any of you out there that have a Roland Boutique JP-08, you might have seen on YouTube someone is producing patches, I'm wanting the 'Rio' patch album. It links to a well known auction site. Thing is I message to ask how to convert patches from computer to Module and haven't heard anythin...

Re: Digital Drumkits vs Analog Synth Drums
Hiya talking drums could you help with my question please? I'm interested in electronic drum noises such as the noises in Ultravox - Vienna (the bit that sounds like thunder) 0.10 Any syntheiszer with noise can make this sound. The "echo" might be an EG or LFO, or could even be an actual echo. Kick...
