Re: Which synthesizer(s) do you regret getting or selling
Regretted Buying.... Roland MC-202 I bought this thing thinking it would be like a keyboard-less SH-101, which is for the most part true. When I got to the stage of pitch bending, portamento and the like though I could not overcome the CPU-controlled beast within. Yes, I know there are kits- but I ...

cbjlietuva, that Odyssey needs to see an orthodontist. :) indeed! The whole keyboard's bushings need to be replaced- some of the broken/dried/cracked were causing the keys to stick. @Micke Your word is final in things synth. I know you hear this a lot, but your synth knowledge is astounding. Thanks!

Re: What is the Oldest Piece of Gear in Your Studio?
This little thing wandered into my studio... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2467/3615436459_68fa6d5ea6_b.jpg as soon as I sell my YC-45d i'll actually own it. it needs some TLC, but I welcome a challenge. Judging by the livery, the lack of CV/Gate ports, this is a late MK I Model 2800. serial 282984...

Re:
I was thinking how cool subsequent versions would be if they had trigger buttons for the automatic vibration of each of the strings... you could play it like a six key keyboard! like a less-user-friendly auto harp  My guitar friends have always liked the moogerfoogers, and I'm sure they've al...

Re: Voice Stealing
But the Ion unison sounds totally weak and washy compared to the power of the A6 unison. I have compared many times, with the same amount of voices. There is just no competition for VCO unison. Dunno why. On the Ion I get a kind of mushy-like sound, but on A6 it turns nasty and gritty and growly on...

MoSyn
MoSyn http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk35/ctenophonic/MOSYN_tn.gif I'll have a 3D version soon  The parameters for each function on the synth is controlled with the "parameter" and "value" knobs which correspond to the LEDs next to the one you're editing in the middle there. The 'sub' func...

Re: Voice Stealing
If I remember correctly, on the A6 in unison you can actually choose how many voices will sound. Useful incase you want a unison sound but 16 oscillators might be a bit overkill. Also great so that you can have a four oscillators in unison and still play four notes at a time, or something like that...

My Juno 6 does the same thing, and it annoys me to no end. I haven't made a concerted effort to nail it down, but based on my experience i would speculate it has to do with 1) what type of amp, mixer, or interface you are using it with and 2) the output level [the switch on the back] of the synth. a...

1) my Bontempi Minstrel Alfa keyboard broke while I was trying to bend it- i did however get a partial bend chart- i remember it did some GREAT things... until I made a connection to a voltage source. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k32/cbjessen/bontempi-bending-map.jpg (it's big) that's about all...

As far as using an external controller to 'edit' patch data... I have firsthand experience, and the 6R will freeze, and (on my model anyway) requires you to 'force-feed' patch data back into it. I was using my SQ80 as a controller, and i mistakingly left it in keys/controllers/patchedit mode- i go t...

is this a custom rack mounted deal you've got going or is this module in, say, a Doepfer bus powered rack? if so you need to get a power adapter that changes both shape and voltage+amperage from ASys's format to doepfer's they're relatively inexpensive, about 25 USD from analogue haven. http://www.a...

RFM- Read the "damn" manual :) I like the CS's portamento more than the Kenton's That's why the mark 2 has more portamento options- constant time, constant rate etc. I like the mark 1 constant time more than the CS's. maybe you should upgrade to mark 2? i might... do they still offer the firmware u...

Another vote for Kenton. I love my Pro2000 for my sequencing purposes, so the proSolo should be great. Personally i'm not a fan of the CS15's circuit design which overrides the the portamento when you plug into the CV jacks for each VCO, mainly because I like the CS's portamento more than the Kenton...
