Re: Issue w/mulitple Midi ports responding

I can't recall what i have this set to, but try clicking/unclicking it.) In Cubase Have two MIDI tracks. for both set MIDI IN to port A Channel...

Re: Switching patches on the fly on a Virus C and a Radias
Planning ahead as mentioned before, on the Virus C you could set up a Multi and split the keyboard.

Re: Recent Cheap Finds - Lo-Fi/Toys/Noise
I youtubed my Tascam TMD1000 and found a vid where the guy has it TDIF'd into a PCI card in the back of his 'puter. A TDIF card? I didn't even think they made these. So...at L&McQ to pick up a friend's desk.....check the bargin bin (basket really). $10 TDIF PCI card. Price tag is labelled 'Vintage'....

Re: Playing back drum samples
The position of a sound on the Drum Map has no relation whatsoever to the pitch of the sample.
C1 is the key/note you need to press to trigger the sample.
If your sample doesn't sound right, you should tune it from within Kontact (i assume it can do this...i don't use it).

Re: Roland MSQ-100!
I recently pulled my out of storage to sequence my 'Novation' rack. Thinking that since it was only one 'track' i would use it on just my Drumstation. But i noticed when setting the MIDI channel .... before CH '1' there is a '--' setting. OMNI mode, records ANY incoming ch # and chucks it back out. ...

Re: fl hate
it's hated because it's probably the most cracked software out there and those 15 year old kid shaving fun with it are stuck in their forums swearing, trolling, not bothering to read the manual and demanding answers on how to make their beats sound better on their Circa 1998 Hp running 98's and clo...

Re: First Synth for an Industrial Musician
I've never heard a filter like the AX60's. It has a character that i have only ever been able to describe as 'industrial'. +1 on the DSI Mopho (or the Evolver) if you want something nice. I would also recommend the Novation A-Station, but you will need a controller keyboard. (Yu may beable to find a...

Re: Roland S 760 Throw me some info
I'll try that!!(again) I flipped thru the manual and couldn't find anything about it and i seem to remember trying to do it after seeing it done on a S-50 on youtube. I think you may be on to something! They're currently at a friends place though...i was going to run the video out thru his 42 inch s...

Re: Roland R-70 Human Rhythm Composer Question
I've had the R-70 since '94. still using it. I also have a R-8M (the Module not the desktop) and previously a R-5 (which i regret giving away) Edits cannot be done in 'Play' mode. However, you can do 'RealTime Record' with the clock running. It will seemlessly loop the Pattern so you can build a pat...

Re: Novation Rack Synth As Dedicated Filter?
I'd say it's 'passibly analogish'.
When i think "that's digital sounding", i think Waldorf D-pole, Attack or my Roland S-760.
I might characterize the As filter as ranging from polite to rude, but just shy aggressive.

Re: MIDI Sync
I'm not too familiar with the specific gear you have (although i have a ER-1 and a Kaoss 1). The sampling i've done has been with either onboard graphic or a computer based wave editor. This way i know (and can edit) the precise length of my Loops (down to the sample). I still retrigger them anyway....
Re: MIDI Sync
You need to retrigger the samples every couple of bars. The reason they 'drift out of sync after 5 min' is that the Loops are not of the same length. Say they are off by just a few samples, while they may seem 'close' or 'bang on' at first, the missing samples will add up over time. Syncing the Cloc...

Re: Novation Rack Synth As Dedicated Filter?
I have the AStation, SBs and Bs. (and Previously a KSr) The SBs only has Chorus and Distortion fx, while the As has Reverb, delay, distort, chorus/flange and vocoder. Also he filter has a setting that switches between having the Resonance sap the bottom end.(changing the Q width iirc, called Res Nor...

Re: Roland S 760 Throw me some info
Can you edit sample start/end points, filter, ect in real time with the 760? (with midi controller) The filters, envelopes, LFOs, and EQ can be controlled over MIDI. Sample start/end (while true in Edit Mode) cannot be controlled by MIDI in realtime. It does have a 'Sustain Loop' and a 'Release Loo...
