According to IK Multimedia, the “buttons” are capacitive and not membranes.

Re: Boutique SH01a ...Pretty nice.
Picked up a blue one - love it! Brings me back to when I had an MC-202 (1983 or so), but much more fun and useable for what I do. And it’s blue, so it sounds better. Did I mention it’s blue?

Re: MiniMoog bargain clone wars heat up
I poked my head into the Behringer tent on Saturday of Gear Fest, but didn't think to check to see if their clone was there. I did get to play the Roland a bit. The controls are small, but manageable. I have to admit I didn't mess with the sequencer, but overall, the engine sounded good. As has been...

Re: Jupiter 6 Qs and setup related advice
JP-6 manual: http://dl.lojinx.com/analoghell/RolandJupiter6-OwnersManual.pdf Don't use a TRS cable if using the unbalanced out - use a standard TS cable. Also try different settings for levels. If I recall correctly, I set mine at high and ran into the mixer (line input). It was a set-it-and-forget-...

Re: Synths used on Modern English album.
Stephen Walker used an Arp Omni on "I Melt With You" - probably more throughout the album, too.
Really like that album; simple, but effective.

Re: iPad app for piano!!
The new iPad announced today just might make me upgrade sooner rather than later.
And I'll agree with Mel that the pianos in GarageBand aren't too bad.

I was under the impression that they actually built one ... a prototype? Is that not true?

Re: Tats Is Leaving Korg ...
I never thought engineers building synths would become famous amongst the userbase. Said the famous synth-site engineer! :D I hope Tats comes up with something that has full size keys, an onboard power supply, standard CC assignments and support for a sustain pedal  Actually, that would be pre...

Tats Is Leaving Korg ...
An article on CDM today gives the details - this was news to me!
While I'm happy to hear he's going to continue on in an advisory role with Korg, I do wonder what his new venture will be.

Heh heh heh ... I sold things a few times thru the classified ads in the back of Keyboard and Guitar Player magazines - those lists took me back!

Welcome! While not as active or as robust as it once was, VSE does fire up on occasion and is still a decent source for info. We're glad to have you here!

Re: Toraiz AS-1
The design makes me think of the old Firstman SQ01, which predated the TB303 by about a year. http://www.synthmuseum.com/first/firsq0101.html That's the one! I was thinking, "Boy ... this looks like something ... " but I just couldn't place it before I ran off to work this morning - thanks for digg...

Re: Electron Digitakt
I'm wondering if they'll debut it at the Elektron Night (so we'll have demos yet at NAMM) or if they're waiting 'til the show in Europe? I'd like to hear/check this one out, too, even though I've yet to really connect with an Elektron machine (yes ... I know ... ).
