**NEW ROLAND ANALOG SYNTH**

I'm surprised no one else noticed.... About one week ago I stumbled onto the Roland UK website and found a page announcing a new roland analog synth. THE ROLAND SYSTEM 100. 100% ANALOG - 100% REAL Roland has spent the last few years digging out the original schematics and has faithfully reproduced t...

Re: G. Numan drops wise words - old vs new - blahblah

The thing people have to realise is that back in the day....all our favourite artists (inc. Numan) were utilising synths which were new-ish or cutting edge at the time. It was a stark contrast both musically and technically from what had gone before. Very few of these artists would use the old synth...

VINYL RECORDS

I was wondering how many of you analog syth lovers also enjoy analog music (i.e. vinyl records). I've just discovered the format myself...and for the past few months have been buying some nice film soundtrack music. Re: equipment that instantly inspires workflow

just purcahsed a Roland 707 on monday. not only is it an instant machine with a groove, but a very close impression to the Linn LM1. it sits in the mix well, with a little tinkering. but to get ideas written down quick, you cant go wrong with this baby. is there any other equipment you could mentio...

Re: Juno60vsJupiter8

The problem with the JP8 is not just the ever increasing demand or its uniqueness, but its scarcity. Not that many of them to go around. Part of the reason I sold mine was because it was just sitting in the studio collecting dust Very similar story to me. I ended up selling mine to Jody @ Way Out W...

Re: A Daft Punk "How'd they make that sound?" Thread

Daft Punk sample about 65% of their music....and run it through analog filters/effects. They just mash it up and make it dirty. The main synth riff used in Robot Rock is a sample from an old record....all they did was pitch it upwards slightly. The sound itself is a factory preset from the Prophet 5...

Re: Virus C - Robot Voices

You won't get proper 80's style robot voices out of the Virus. For some reason the Virus vocoder lacks the clarity...and the words are so muffled you wont understand what the f*$£ is going on (nor will your audience). Soundcards and CD ripping...

Hi all I have a quick question... Does the quality of soundcard used have any influence over the 'quality/fidelity' of a ripped CD track? Put another way, if I was to rip a track from my favourite CD and save it to my Hard Drive - would I get 'better' results using a FF800 or would there be no diffe...

Re: D16 Silverline FX Group Buy.

I bought a copy of Syntorus last night and have now just downloaded the other 5 for FREE.

I still can't believe it! I've now got a really good suite of effects....I can get rid of all those shitty Cubase 5 freebies.

Thanks for the heads up on this :)

GForce impOSCar 2

When the h**l is it going to be released - they had an impOSCar blowout back in Oct/Nov...which i nearly did as it was reduced to £39 (amazing value). But then the price went back upto like £80 and I've been waiting 6 months....argh! Are they really ironing out bugs for it....or do you think they mi...
