Re: Studio Workhorse: the 2011 thread

ableton live as the sequencer, TR808 and TR909 for Drums, AX60 for poly synth work, Moog LP for bass lead or fx, and Dot Com for bass and or lead. Gotta also throw in the Chorus Echo Re501 for the main fx processing unit.

Re: All synthesizers are good :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, you're referring to those that will make even Trance sound good. Darude - Sandstorm I'd probably need a bag of coke to survive through that song. To be honest, it's okay. Got played a lot over here, so definitely don't care to hear it anymore. His singles after that one were ridiculously bad th...

Re: Why buy hardware synths?

This question is intended to be a little bit provocative, but it's all in the spirit of good music tech conversation. I'm a serious classical composer with a strong interest in electronics. For fun, I make some house and trance. I run Logic Pro and use MaxMSP, Massive, Thor, Subtractor, and Logic's...

Song From my Analogic EP in the works.

This is a song that I made in about 3 hours, right before I was leaving town. So I figured I might as well make a song before hand. I will let you all guess what gear was used to make this track.

Balloon Descent

Have a listen.

Re: Boss SP303

I returned the SP-12 since the unit wasnt fully functional, and 750 dollars for it was an absolute rip off. I'll probably go with an Emax 1 if I get another Emu sampler. an Sp-1200 would be ideal, but i'll go with an Emax instead. But yea, something portible and fun would also be pretty cool too. I ...

Re: Boss SP303

Something I have been reading on the SP forum is the fact that the SM cards are starting to corrupt, causing alot of problems for users of the 303's. I mean i found at least 2-5 references to dying 303's within like the first page. That honestly kinda scares me, as I would have to drop 250 dollars o...

Re: "Squidstep" - Dub/Dubstep/Ambient

Personally, I think this is great as is. Reminds me of an updated version of Symbiosis. Definitely would classify this as ambient IDM, if thats not an oxymoron. its actually kinda inspiring to say the least. Diggin your other tracks as well!

Boss SP303

I have been interested in one of these since they came out years ago. My intention for one is one its a small portible sampler, yea doesnt have battery power but thats an easy remedy. I also like the fact that its a bit lo-fi in general, and has built in FX's. Any SP303 owners on this forum? I was w...

Re: Kraftwerk sample case overturned

Me personally, I dont really see a problem with sampling if you plan to release music for free. And if I sample, I usually rearrange a sample and usually stay away from loops. To me the whole debate over sampling chords, drum hits, etc, is just ludicrious. The main reason why i sample is not for the...

In Trance We Trust (Live take)

This was posted out of refrence to my last posting, regarding a "liquid" sequence patch that I had made on the AX-60. This was done all on one take for the most part, some parts of the mix were separated like Moog bass, 909 kick, AX-60, 909 misc, and the rest was all done in stereo, so about 5-6 tra...

Re: Analog heavy Trance

I have been having tuning issues with my x0xb0x as well, which is why I havent really used it much in my productions. I think it needs to be recalibrated, and I have a huge 1980s analog oscilloscope dying to be used to bring my Scully tape machine back to life. my tuning knob is like at 3 oclock jus...
