Re: Yamaha CP-60/70/80 series (and a bit more)

I gigged for years with a CP30, I remember it being velocity sensitive.

Re: What defines a digital or analogue circuit?

After a brief read through this thread, I felt the need to jump on a tractor and mow a few acres. Now I'm going to jump in the shower, then jump on a leggy blond. I suggest the rest of you follow suit.

Re: Northeast Ohio Synth Meet

No real complaints actually, just wasn't my thing. Perhaps because I went a little later, (got there about 6) Maybe it was better earlier. There was a handful of people and synths. Highlights we're a MInimoog, an Odyssey, and a few homebuilt modulars. Nice stuff, just not anything i hadn't seen befo...

There's nothing else to do here.
Actually, the reason for this concentration is that years ago, we all met at Ellis Island, and just sort of settled here.

Where are you located on the west side? I'm in Hinckley.

Re: Yamaha CS80's "wiggling" keys?

It's been years, maybe decades even, since I had it set up, but I remember my trusty old Yamaha YC-30 combo organ having something called 'touch vibrato'. When activated, the wiggling you describe would add vibrato according to the rate and amount of the wiggle.

Re: Your Rig---but 20 Years Ago

A little over 30 years ago, but here's an old photo from a sound check. Baldwin Electro-Piano with Yamaha CP30 on top, to my right is a Yamaha YC-30 organ with an ARP Quadra on top. Leslie is off stage. In the rack is Sequential Circuits Model 800 sequencer, a mixer, equalizer, and some various effe...

Yep. I had an old whiteface that never let me down. Countless gigs, tossed around, thrown into trucks, had a big hole in the back of it from a stage mis-hap, never missed a note. Conversely, my Mini was handled with kid-gloves, and was a constant problem.
