I made a preset for the Little Phatty called "Gamma Globulin" that is a tribute to this track, and sounds (IMO) a lot like the freaky little melodic lead sound in this track. It uses two oscillators, one set to a triangle and one a triangle/saw; they are detuned from each other just to the point of ...

yep, pretty well alright.. sequencing voltage-controlled stuff is ideal because that way you get the slide effects (doesn't really "slide" the pitch over midi, I don't think).

I use a x0xb0x for all kinds o stuff... nice thing is it can put out MIDI and control voltages at the same time. I like to slave the x0x tempo to Ableton Live, and then write patterns in realtime on the x0x. This avoids any problems with matching BPM, which is difficult/nigh-impossible with the unit...

I tend to use my LP for basslines and the Voyager for liquidy leads... there is much more modulation depth on the Voyager so you can add a lot of subtle nuances and shading to the sound as you play it live. To me that's one of the biggest strengths that analogue has, is this ability to shape the ton...

Hey Harry, I for my part apologise for any assumptions I may have made about what you know and don't know... I think it's cool that you've taken an interest in this piece that was being neglected and are taking some care of it. If I did have anything useful to contribute, it was the recommendation o...

Robotheroes: 4chan much? ;) Nice avatar BTW. To Mr. Badhat: I think what might have set off anyone who is being impolite to you might be stuff like (well, specifically) your response to people telling you NOT to use contact cleaner on the pots. "Don't worry, I only used a little" is pretty infuriati...

just listened to that particular bass on the mySpace track - definitely multiple oscillators on that one. Theres some higher fizzy harmonics that could be sawteeth with a filter somewhat open, and some subsonics that could perhaps be a triangle wave at a lower octave. Not much filter resonance is us...

I guess my x0xb0x is rare... I think there have been a little over 600 kits made, and I know they haven't all been built. I've probably built nearly 1% of the world supply of them by now. :) Other than that I don't have much that is actually rare... there are a good several JP6's, MS10s and Voyagers...

I am fixated on a certain kind of electronic kick found in old Goa tunes- it's like a super-fast slide from ultra-high pitch down to subsonic, but with the mids scooped out. So it's almost two sounds at once, a very cutting "knock" that cleaves thru the mix with a "thump" that hits you in the chest ...

take an analog or VA synth start with a single oscillator use the controls provided to set the waveform and filter parameters until the overall tone of the sound has the right "feel" to you then write a simple sequence for this synth using straight 16th notes and set it to loop, now adjust the envel...
