Can someone list the major differences between the PEK and the Prophet "08? I realize that the '08 isn't actually out yet, but someone with knowledge of both can list maybe 5 differences between them. From the DSI web site : PEK 5-octave, semi-weighted action keyboard with velocity and aftertouch. ...

Other way around, I believe...

I believe it does...at least, the keyboard version did, I think....cc#s in the teens, if memory serves....up/down something like cc#16, left/right cc#17...or was it 13 and 14...?

What is wrong with you? What do you define as analog??? A wave accumulator is not an analog oscillator in the sense that something is charged and discharged by controlled voltage. You can think of it as a look-up table that is driven by pulses to create a waveform. Changing the speed of the pulses ...

Dave doesn't want any of us posting any pictures of the synth until he posts them on the DSI web site.

Shouldn't be long...

What we have is lots of silence... What we have are several posts in several threads across several forums saying official specs would be posted next week when Dave gets back from vacation. What we also have here is someone who has an actual day job (me) and doesn't always have time t...

Well, the Prophet 8 most likely uses an analogue signal path and a digital modulation path. (It's just the way it's done unless you are insane or work at Moog.) The digital bits control oscillator frequency, VCA and VCF cutoff and resonance. Ah. You mean mod routings are under microprocessor contro...

Sounds to me like the modulation matrix is only for digital modulation. I don't even know what that means....sorry. If this is only a rehashed Prophet 600 It's not, but thanks for playing... :D then at the price why not just get a Prophet 600? Because maybe you want an eight voice synth that doesn'...

Me things, these 4 slots fill up pretty fast when using velocity, aftertouch, and the wheels. Velocity, AT, and the wheels have their own dedicated mod slots that leave the four assignable slots to be used for whatever else you want (or to do double/triple duty with the dedicated routings), same as...

dB, thanks for the further info. I look forward to reading how voice allocation is handled for Program A and Program B. I'd assume stacking is at minimum 4/4, A/B, giving 4-note polyphony in stacked mode. :D But of course... :thumbright: Hey, I don't suppose we could keep this down to one thread......

My pleasure.

It's really a lot of fun getting to share it with the people who really care about things like this before anyone else hears about it - 'preciate the opportunity.
