I just got my Atari Cubase from Barrie at Keychange. He's a great guy to deal with. I opted for the full package with the original box and manual (which is huge btw) for £89. After the currency conversion, bank transfer fees, and shipping from the UK to the US everything ended up costing me right ar...

The one I got off the net seems to operate fine. It is the plus version which was released after the SE HD version. And it does have hard drive options on it such as scan hard drive, format hard drive, copy software to hard drive, etc... Maybe for some reason it does need an official disk. I would s...

EMAX SE HD+ noob (no boot from HD)

I just got an EMAX SE HD+ today. 8) I was wondering why it won't load the OS from the hard drive. I got the OS online. Went through the motions of putting the OS I downloaded from the net onto a floppy. It will boot the OS from the floppy. I scanned the hard drive. No defects or errors found. Format...

Well I'm wondering if it would be possible to do this with my regular pc and Sound Forge or another similar program. I guess it would dump midi info back and forth. I'm not at all versed on midi dumps. Anybody care to shed some light?

if you are using HD disks try taping over the hole on the right corner of the disk. it's the hole that doesn't have the little plastic slider. then try formatting again. this trick works for a lot of old gear that was made to use DD floppies. tricks the drive into thinking the HD disk is a DD disk.

Mac sample editing software

I have an Akai S950. And I am soon picking up an E-mu Emax SE HD+. I also happen to have an old Macintosh computer, an SE/30. I have heard a couple things about software for the Mac that will allow me to connect and edit & store samples from these two samplers (among others). I have heard of Alchemy...

yeah. a midi patch bay will usually have 1 or 2 midi inputs and more (usually 8 or so) midi outputs/thrus. Midi out from sequencer to midi in on patch bay. then use the multiple outs/thrus from the patch bay to go to the midi inputs of your synths or drum machines or whatever you want to sequence. d...

No matter what sequencer you choose. You are going to want to invest in a midi thru box, or as some call it, a midi patch bay. These can be had for cheap (around $30-$40) on ebay. Probably almost as cheap second hand in a music shoppe. And if you want a cheap sequencer, you might want to take a look...
