Re: Where is the Obligatory New DSI product leak?????

Edited my post. Sorry guys. I could have sworn I heard 4 voice... wait, when hooked up to a tetra = 5 voices as the tetra has 4 voices + 1 voice from Mopho, got it.

Re: Where is the Obligatory New DSI product leak?????

I'm loving the knobby layout of the Mopho-kbd. The separate arp and sequencer buttons seems like a good idea as well as the tap tempo/push-it button. Just need to test drive one... come on spring equinox!

Re: Winter NAMM 2010

Kind of an unusual name for a Metasonix product no? Shouldn't it be "f**k" or something?

Re: Can someone explain samplers to me? I'm not quite sure..

Are you using a DAW like Ableton Live or Logic? Ableton has "Simpler" which comes with Live. It's good to experiment with and you can just drag and drop .wav files into it and your off. Of course you have to have a midi keyboard or use the computer keyboard to trigger it (I think). Ableton also offe...

Fun tracks! I like that distant 303 sound on Leader. The track in your youtube vid has a great pace to it too.

Re: Acid?

Thank you skweeegor. I'm going to keep the original slower version but I've bumped up the BPM to 115 and added a few more elements here and there to keep it interesting. Above 115 BPM it starts sounding weird. Here's the latest version: Cliche 2 http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=706...

Re: Acid?

Thanks Cartesia, I'll give that a try. I kinda got locked into that BPM as the song developed.

Acid?

Here's a work in progress called "Cliche". My mixes always tend to be quiet which was a problem that I recently figured out, so this track should have some energy behind it. The track is 4/4 - Acid-techno style or whatever @ 105 BPM and it's my first attempt at aaaaacccccccciiiiiiiidddddd!!!!! I'd l...

Re: Let's talk about strings, baby

In Keyboard Magazine's 1984 "Synthesizer Technique" book, Bob Moog discusses the timbral complexity of the violin and suggests a few different methods to achieve convincing string family emulations. " String Instrument Acoustics. The violin bow is coated with rosin which makes it grip the string. As...

Re: Novachord #346 Inspection & Initial Wakeup

Looking great Hideaway! "Both Mike Fulk and Phil Cirocco are Novachord legends but sadly they are both almost impossible to contact via email (at least on the subject of Novachords) these days. Sadly Marco, myself and at least one other Novachord owner have tried to contact them on a number of occas...

Aw man... so many wonderful studio shots here. I'd love to posterize and hang some in my own studio. I think they're quite inspirational these photos.

Re: So... What's up at Elektron?

Cute. By the way mome, your tracks rock. Especially that "eat your bees" one. I just got my MDUW yesterday and I gotta say that this tweak box is incredibly, well, intuitive! (compared to the other drum machines I've owned) Easier than I thought to interact with. The knobs, IMO, are fine. They beat ...
