Ensoniq SD1 issue

Hi all, My Ensoniq SD1 (21-voice, OS 3.0) developed a serious problem after a power surge incident at a recent gig. When I strike a key the note played is very loud and has maximum vibrato. This occurs with internal sounds as well as outgoing MIDI data. When I hold down the footswitch (which is set ...

Re: Alesis Ion problems

Reloading the OS into the Ion is always a tricky proposition. I discovered that the Alesis DataDisk plays very well with the Ion.....I've done numerous OS reloads with an old DataDisk my church was discarding and the Ion takes it first time every time.

Re: Roland JD-Xa

I thought he was trying to make the point of red in the dark is less stressful and will help retain nightvision, like the pilots use in the movies... I know the blue leds on my mixer and monitor are bright as f and cause "trails" if I look across them quickly, but the red leds on the ms2000 just do...

Re: Roland JD-Xa

On a dark or poorly lit stage, red is the easiest and least stressful color for eyes to see. Just sayin'

Short Story

Quick little slightly spooky soundtrack piece done on Ensoniq SD1, Roland JV1080 & E-Mu Vintage Keys, with soundscape from The Freesound Project. It was used as a music bed on WBGL in Champaign, IL, recently. Thanks for listening!

Re: Just bought 2 Synths + Tr-8

If I were you, I'd spend a lot of time getting comfy with and enjoying those instruments instead of thinking of buying more stuff. There's enough power there for a lifetime or two.

Re: ESQ-1 ARPEGIATTOR??????????

As others have said, read the manual for your transmitting keyboard. I have been successful in sending arpeggiator data from my Alesis Ion to my Ensoniq SD-1.

Hmmm....the OP vanished on us. That's what happens when someone comes expecting us to do his homework for him.

Re: Minimal wave tips??? Ensoniq, Moog, E-mu

This isn't meant to sound arrogant, but you should read each instrument's manual to learn how they do what they do. If you don't have them, search on line. Then, you might try to recreate a song you like so you can figure out how it was done. Beyond that, just sit down and play!

New music

New music for your consideration. Each song is a work in progress, awaiting melody lines and solos from my guitarist collaborator. Synths used are an Ensoniq SD1, Roland JV1080, Alesis Ion and E-mu Vintage Keys, sequencing was done on the SD1 and recorded into Audacity via an Alesis iO2 Express. Hig...
