Re: Korg SuperDelta

Yeah I like the "double synths" too, excepted for that JX10 I tried at last 2 weeks ago: Poor flat sound... Did youy ever try a Maxikorg? Mine gave me the idea to "double" the Delta too! Here some pics of the definitive state, after 3 more layers of varnish and Upper Attack broken slider repair. The...

Re: Korg SuperDelta

To me, it has always been one of the most horrible-sounding boxes Korg has ever come up with. Did you ever try one? There's just a double MS20 MkII filter on that one, and I must say it actually sounds very close to my MS20. Did you notice you may sculpt a juicy sawtooth by adjusting the 4 harmonic...

Re: Which Korg?

Hey Joe, you need a Monotron!

Just one Monotron and a Boss RC20.
No FX (but some spring reverb from my old Carlsbro amp when recording).
No midi.
All played on the ribbon w/ fingers.
Sure a MicroKorg or MS2000 can't sound as good!

Re: Korg SuperDelta

Well. The wooden case is not totally finished yet: I'll darken it with 3 or 4 more layers of "golden oak" varnish. The contrast looks somewhat cheesy like this... I finished the instrument late in the night, to take it to an analog synths meeting just next morning! I'll add a pot for the vibrato del...

Re: Korg SuperDelta

Does yours have a delay before the pitch vibrato kicks in?
Sure it has, like every Delta!

Re: Korg SuperDelta

Reminds me of the Juno 2012. Er.... 'scuze me sir, this doesn't sound like 2 crappy Juno106, but like 2 wonderfull Deltas! :? That famous (and unique) filter, made of 2 MS20 filter stages resulting in an incredible 24dB MS20 sounding synthesizer, instantly takes the wallpaper off! It directly drill...

Re: is 'new analog' better or worse 'old analog'?

One old electronic service-guy I heard about, called Emile, said once, while opening a failing recent Yamaha analog mixing console: "Look at those tracks... How thin they are! How do you want it to provide good sound through such few MATTER?" Physical miniaturization just provides miniaturized sound...

Well, "dance music" is only bizness s**t for moving the grease of the 2% 'privileged' lost mindless people of that planet.

Re: is 'new analog' better or worse 'old analog'?

It depends on what you call "new analog". Most of new modular systems are at least as good as the old ones. But most of combo new analog synths are made of CMS components, you can't repair by yourself, and about wich no one knows if they will fit 30 or 40 years along... In addition to that, the pots...
