Re: Any Love for the Octave Plateau Voyetra 8?

The Voyetra is great. Like any other interface you get used to it in time. I made an sheet that showed each pages assignments , made life a lot easier. You've probably read about the various revisions/issues/maintenance issues so I won't bore you repeating the obvious. Bottom line, get one if you ca...

Re: What is the sexiest looking synth of all time?

Using the ribbon requires that I move one hand from the keyboard, there's really no difference in use. I have a Kurzweil expressionist that I mounted on the ledge in front of the keys on the midi board. This allows me to hold keys and glide a thumb,Palm or pinky on the ribbon. On the Cs80 it was act...

Re: Emu Audity 2000

It had one expansion slot that had one expansion made for it Audity 2000 X-treme. Basically doubled the 16mb waveform data to 32mb with data from the moPhatt &orbit modules ( not 100%certain on the exact modules the expansion sounds came from). The other emu Roms don't work in the audity.

Re: To the person who snapped up the Jupiter 8 for 3500

There always seem to be a few for sale if one is willing to pay market rates. The prophet stuff T8,p10, P5 seems a bit scarcer. If you have tech chops you've got better odds when you risk a bargain price purchase. RJ clearly has those chops; I'm sure his Jup will be up to snuff in no time I've never...

@Solderman : There are 3000+ Jupiter 8 produced, not 2000.

Re: Andromeda buyer tips

There were 250 red panels made, as well as a couple of prototype panels...I believe these were done in pairs.dark blue with black ( like the Aurora), silver on silver and perhaps one other. There were 10 V2 beta models...these can't upgrade the OS. Mike Peake had one, Dave Brice had another. Mike so...

Re: Prophet 12 or Solaris?

I've had my Solaris for about 2 years now; amazing synth. Z summed up a lot of the options nicely. The hard part about the comparison is finding someone who has both or at least spent some significant time with both

Nostalgicsoundguy dropped off a tasty BCR2000 and Monotron in my greedy little hands. Great guy, good gear and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.

Re: Rare :: SH-101 :: Army Green

Why would some Sh-101s turn green and not others? Perhaps they changed suppliers during the run. This happened with the Chroma. The keybeds on the first 50 were sourced from a different supplier. As they aged, they turned a creamy ivory color ( like a lot of 80s computers. There were two keys at eac...
